While watching this I browsed around Twitch looking at random channels. The number of obvious children with creeps asking them to stand up and jump and shit is fucking alarming. These channels have 20+ viewers and I’ve seen people offering to donate for the kids to do weird shit. CZcams isn’t perfect but did something to protect children. Twitch needs to shape the fuck up.
As much as I love Charlie using his platform as the voice of justice for smaller people, it’s getting aggravating how there seems to be an unlimited stream every other day of people being screwed by the system, bias and injustice. I personally think it is not sensible to compare the period of a ban given to a very small streamer vs the one given to one of the bigger streamers on the platform considering the fact that the former has no significant influence on people. They DO have consistency in enforcing their rule, little mistakes have harsh and unfair punishment while huge mistakes get minor and unjust punishment.

I’m not defending Twitch because I think you’re right, but the idea of the pool category itself was so that their advertisers aren’t upset over their ad being shown on a hot tub stream. The category only gets 18+ category ads, which is why the fad died so hard, since you can’t make the most amount of money possible if you can’t run all kinds of ads.

As for "claimed she thought she was on another platform" that is actually possible. To stream through OBS on twitch you have to change your stream key in OBS. Then to another site, change it again to the other site. If you forget which stream key is in, you can accidentally stream to the wrong site. She could be a cam girl as well as a twitch streamer. Panicked when she realized she f*cked up. Or she did it on purpose, who knows.
The most simple and seemingly logical answer as to why they are like this is probably just that there are workers there that are just massive simps. Twitch seems to bend over backwards to please some female streamers even if they are actively trying to drive traffic away from the site. Them relaxing their clothing policies to the point that they eventually added a category for hot tub streaming should be really telling for a lot of people.

I was banned from twitch in 2017 for making a joke about how pink sparkles sits. It took 5 years for me to get unbanned and when I came back I just lost all of my energy to want to stream. Unfair bans like this never get brought to light I'm glad people are shiny a spot light on the situation. Just try being banned for 5 years over a clearly satirical joke.

honestly sexual content isn't a serious rule on Twitch, They are extremely consistent in their sexual content bans being light offenses. Granted I don't think I've seen many male punishment's for sexual content aside from that one instance Charlie talked about where the dude had accidentally opened pornhub and got like a month ban which was quite awhile ago I really don't have enough modern data to say men are treated unfairly on Twitch when it comes to the same rule violations since men are usually not streaming the same type of sexual content but I'd imagine both men and women would get fairly lenient bans related to sexual content. I always was under the impression that the Twitch moderation was filled with single, lonely men who basically simp and white knight for every attractive female streamer that exists and practice the most minimal amount of moderation with them. I've been hearing stories for years and years about the inconsistent rulings on female streamers vs male streamers, especially if they're attractive young women. They could do literally anything and get at most a week's ban for it, there was a female streamer who abused their pet cat on stream and got little more than a slap on the wrist for it iirc. I really never imagined it was about the money, it's just men who are simps.
It was Alinity iirc, with the cat. She's done other shit too, including a nip slip, and nothing happened. Charlie made a video about it. Meanwhile a streamer gets robbed while streaming, meaning that *he* was the actual victim, yet he gets permabanned.

I’m a twitch viewer, never streamed in my life, and was IP banned for fraud/ promoting fraud. I was subbed to a few channels but was mostly a lurker. Even though I was able to get my account back and get back on twitch after a couple of emails, I still don’t understand why I was banned.

Being a content creator on CZcams and Twitch used to be a dream. Now I’m honestly glad I don’t have to deal with their bs. I remember when these platforms used to be fun and people really got to express themselves. Now these two platforms are just cesspools of unfair treatment and put into a corporate, family friendly, filtered and bland box. Nothing is challenging the status quo, nobody is allowed to express themselves, no video is treated the same. It’s just sad. I hope a new platform comes along that will give us some sense of what the early 2000’s looked like. 2006-2016 was probably as good as it’s going to get here.
I would argue the smaller streamers are treated more unfairly than bigger streamers due to not having a voice. It's like with CZcams where if you're big enough and make a fuss the companies notice (not that they go with your protests all the time though). Smaller streamers have nothing and can't do anything besides suck it up almost every time. I agree with everything else in the video.
I feel like that's usually how it is for most streaming platforms. If you're a small channel, then you really have no say in the matter. But at the same time, twitch has shown that it doesn't really matter how big or small your channel is. It seems like to them, it just depends on if you're a woman or a man.

I’m not defending Twitch because I think you’re right, but the idea of the pool category itself was so that their advertisers aren’t upset over their ad being shown on a hot tub stream. The category only gets 18+ category ads, which is why the fad died so hard, since you can’t make the most amount of money possible if you can’t run all kinds of ads.
The fact that Twitch would literally permanently ban a Twitch streamer for getting robbery on a live stream yet Twitch would only give a 7-days ban to the woman who was getting it on and broke the rules of Twitch on the stream. It's truly baffling.

As for "claimed she thought she was on another platform" that is actually possible. To stream through OBS on twitch you have to change your stream key in OBS. Then to another site, change it again to the other site. If you forget which stream key is in, you can accidentally stream to the wrong site. She could be a cam girl as well as a twitch streamer. Panicked when she realized she f*cked up.

From what ive seen about twitches guidelines, you get punished less if you break a more serious rule, and punished more if youve done an oopsie
honestly sexual content isn't a serious rule on Twitch, They are extremely consistent in their sexual content bans being light offenses. Granted I don't think I've seen many male punishment's for sexual content aside from that one instance Charlie talked about where the dude had accidentally opened pornhub and got like a month ban which was quite awhile ago I really don't have enough modern data to say men are treated unfairly on Twitch when it comes to the same rule violations since men are usually not streaming the same type of sexual content but I'd imagine both men and women would get fairly lenient bans related to sexual content. Honestly If we go by data gathered women are disproportionately banned and suspended on Twitch especially for sexual content so much so you might say Twitch is targeting women exclusively but we know that's silly, It's just because of how men and women stream differently.

I always was under the impression that the Twitch moderation was filled with single, lonely men who basically simp and white knight for every attractive female streamer that exists and practice the most minimal amount of moderation with them. I've been hearing stories for years and years about the inconsistent rulings on female streamers vs male streamers, especially if they're attractive young women. They could do literally anything and get at most a week's ban for it, there was a female streamer who abused their pet cat on stream and got little more than a slap on the wrist for it iirc. I really never imagined it was about the money, it's just men who are simps.
It was Alinity iirc, with the cat. She's done other shit too, including a nip slip, and nothing happened. Charlie made a video about it. Meanwhile a streamer gets robbed while streaming, meaning that *he* was the actual victim, yet he gets permabanned.

If you're a young attractive hot-tub streamer, they will likely punish you very little at all. The bias for these women is so strong in the Twitch moderation that I don't think we're going to see it resolved for a long time, unfortunately. And it really isn't the women's fault that the moderation team is like this. They're just trying to be entertainers and make money how they deem fit.

I’m a twitch viewer, never streamed in my life, and was IP banned for fraud/ promoting fraud. I was subbed to a few channels but was mostly a lurker. Even though I was able to get my account back and get back on twitch after a couple of emails, I still don’t understand why I was banned.

Doesnt matter how much you make for them, if you are not basically a corporate slave who does everything they want at any time, they would rather not have you, but can't justify banning you for no reason. Being a content creator on CZcams and Twitch used to be a dream. Now I’m honestly glad I don’t have to deal with their bs. I remember when these platforms used to be fun and people really got to express themselves. Now these two platforms are just cesspools of unfair treatment and put into a corporate, family friendly, filtered and bland box. Nothing is challenging the status quo, nobody is allowed to express themselves, no video is treated the same. It’s just sad. I hope a new platform comes along that will give us some sense of what the early 2000’s looked like. 2006-2016 was probably as good as it’s going to get here.

I would argue the smaller streamers are treated more unfairly than bigger streamers due to not having a voice. It's like with CZcams where if you're big enough and make a fuss the companies notice (not that they go with your protests all the time though). Smaller streamers have nothing and can't do anything besides suck it up almost every time. I agree with everything else in the video.

I feel like that's usually how it is for most streaming platforms. If you're a small channel, then you really have no say in the matter. But at the same time, twitch has shown that it doesn't really matter how big or small your channel is. It seems like to them, it just depends on if you're a woman or a man.
