My little guy is exactly one month older than Brooks and we had a similar issue. We had to also switch to formula. The only thing that matters is they are thriving and we are sane. My guy is also still not sleeping much during the day, the trade off is definitely that they sleep through the night.

Im thinking this couldve been a deep latch issue cuz it sounds like Brooks wasnt transferring and emptying the milk out of your breasts effectively and thus inhaling more air than normal (hence him being gassy, not gaining weight well, and you still being engorged and being able to pump a lot of milk still). Also him only getting formula from a bottle the first two days of life in the NICU probably did get him used to that by stretching his belly more, and getting used to faster bottle milk flow. I dont think this was a milk supply issue considering you breastfed Bekham for 7 months and you mentioned being engorged and pumping lots out, so I hope you dont doubt yourself about that! Glad that hes feeling much better!
I totally agree that it was probably not an undersupply issue. With my second I also had similar problems and they were due to oversupply and him not being able to drink slowly and getting too much air in.
I want to hear the story of how you both decided on the name Brooks because I remember Morgan wasn't totally a fan when you guys talked about names before he was born. Very curious what made Morgan come around to the name 😊

Do you swaddle him for naps? I swaddled my baby and put her in the swing, she slept great during the day then. Nights were horrible lol. Glad we're past that part.

I agree on the c sec I have had 3 each non big deal after the first.
You were right coz he was in the nicu and they gave him formula
I had pretty much the exact situation with my babe & breastfeeding. We supplemented with formula while I went soy free & completely dairy free & my supply dropped. At the end of the day it was so time consuming & mentally challenging. We do hypoallergenic formula now & it’s getting scary to find!

Morgan, I hear you 100% on the breast feeding. Ain’t nothing wrong with formula. I understand the guilt feeling inside, it’s horrible actually. I feel more woman and professionals need to talk about that. If you are short formula please reach out, I’m from Canada and I would have no issues sending you formula. Pls if your in need, reach out. 🇨🇦
I have brown eyes and my husband has blue all of our kiddos that got brown/ hazel eyes had darker blue/grey eyes at birth. We have one kiddo though when he was born his eyes were bright blue almost like crayola. He’s nearly three not and they are grey

You may want to speak with a naturopath regarding the baby swallowing the amniotic fluid and how that mat have affected baby’s gut flora?
My 2nd son was extremely colic I had to take a whole school year off of work . he wasn't sleeping I wasn't sleeping I've never seen a new born baby have dark circles. It took a whole year for the colic to ease. drs had no idea what was going on. he was gaining weight so he wasn't hungry he wouldn't take a bottle so he wouldn't take formula I limited what I ate to see if something was bugging him. It was so hard. He wasn't happy at all and screamed all the time my parents had to come over and walk with him everywhere to just let me get a little sleep. My oldest was so sad and said I don't want him take him back he's not nice cuz I can't sleep it was horrible.
