Bought all three and I actually appreciate them not having mentors since it's just an extra thing to explain when teaching new players how to play. The gameplay is simple enough to get started while still being interesting. Love this set and would recommend these!

I'm probably going to do with this what i did with my monarch decks, where i upgrade them with cards i already have and use them as a teaching tool
Absolutely fantastic idea!
Bought all three and played Oldhim v Briar yesterday. Thinking of keeping Lexi sealed just as she interests me the least, but I think I enjoyed playing with these over the monarch ones. The Monarch decks felt designed to be played with monarch while these feel more universal. Overall though great product that has really helped me get into the game.
There's no real reason to leave it sealed tbh. It's an unlimited print run. If you aren't interested, maybe give it to someone to get them started.
Lexi is the most fun to play in my personal opinion, crack that thing open and play it!

I am really interested in this game and making it my new hobby but I need someone o a website to learn the game, I don’t see a lot of people playing it at the card shops 😕

How do you think they compare in terms of balance vs the Monarch blitz decks? I bought a couple of monarch blitz decks and had lots of fun with them. Would like to have a set of all blitz decks but wonder whether they have some sort of power creep when playing vs different past sets.
Without playing them against each other yet I'd say they feel very balanced and of relatively equal power (I feel that Prism may be the strongest out of the box but it's hard to tell at a glance)
Due to family/work circumstances I couldn't pick up my pre orders till today. I got three boxes but one is a gift for a friend, so out of the two I just cracked I got a CF pulse of Isenloft, a new Horizon and a Heart of Ice! Definitely worth a long weekend

i got the Briar deck over the weekend to get in now that my store carries FaB, with what my online name is i wasnt allowed to not get her. but after a game (with a lot of misplays from both sides) i feel i made the right choice for my starting deck regardless. she's so fun and i look forward to upgrading her. no idea how to start doing that mind you, but its fun
Nice! I would start by looking at the Majestic Elemental Runeblade cards in Tales of Aria! Have fun brewing! (It's one of my favorite things about tcgs!)
@@RedZoneRogue yea i figured it was the top end of rarity for ele runeblade stuff, then figure out which element i wanna focus (i think i want both still myself), then equipment upgrades. i have seen the name "ball lightning tribal" slung around with Briar's name in there so that seems interesting!

I'm not a fan of elements but i know i will grab an Oldhim Blitz deck this week !

Btw question: Those cards are what we gonna see in every Blitz deck, right ?
For example some had no yellows so it's not like there are few randoms in any Blitz Deck ?

I definitely don't think there are really any reason to get these as an established player. that being said, I always buy them because its pretty powerful to be able to just have decks to hit it with when playing casually with ppl. That's why I always get them. It's just gonna get better as more of these decks come back. I do wish they would go back and do the old heroes like this.
Not gonna lie though, I was super bummed they didn't have mentors. It does make sense lore wise and the whole point of a mentor is to get out the specialization which they do not have in the deck since they only have 1 M specialization.

I really like the art style, much more than MTG.
Me too honestly. MTG doesn't really feel like a traditional fantasy game anymore - it mixes in so much and feels a bit unfocused
Kinda curious...oldhim has earth and ice. When i flip through them i cant help but feel that if i specialized in ice or earth it would be more effective. Ice oldhim to disrupt aggro.... earth to grind others to dust. Splitting both, sometimes my hand cant fuse. Idk what to think
Yeah I think you have it right - picking one of the elements and leaning heavily in that direction is likely the best approach
I think there are powerful cards in every element. While leaning into one element to fuse consistently is probably a good idea, don't write off elemental cards your hero can play just because they aren't the element you're focusing on. Most decks run some generic cards, so evaluating earth cards like that makes sense for an ice-centric Oldhim deck
Kind of garbage they didn't put any specialization cards in the decks. Mostly just good for new players or if you can only buy one booster box but I really wanted the foil young heros
Like I mentioned in the video - you can just buy the deck for the foil hero, replace it with a normal one, and then just give the deck to friend that you think will like the game 😉

The short answer is: YES! The heroes are all still relevant in multiple formats and are great for learning 😁

One thing to add to is with Tales of Aria the element cards can mix into other decks (i.e Briar can use lightning and earth cards) earth cards are in oldhim too. So they mix and match!
This is very true! Each hero shares one element with each other!
Yesterday I opened 2 booster boxes purchased from StockX. I was lucky as I pulled the Rampart of the Rams Head. Do you all think this card will become more valuable as times goes on or should I sell it asap? I also had a few others that are rare but none close to the Ram.
Guardian is a very strong class so I could see it possibly going up slightly over time, probably not spiking.

13:52 that would be pretty nice. currently contemplating buying starter decks for FoB, digimon OR Vanguard. FoB´s are twice the price and digimons the triple of Vanguard.
Would highly recommend Digimon, super cheap single prices and a very active community online.
Are the cards first edition? will they re-print these blitz decks as unlimited? or are all blitz decks first edition?
They're kinda neither I guess you could say. They're just the same print run always (just like the Monarch decks)

How balance are the blitz decks against other expansions?
I feel that all of the blitz starters are pretty well balanced against eachother

@@RedZoneRogue what do you think the ranger mentor would do to get lesson counters? Perhaps “when you hit with you second arrow attack this then, reload, and put a lesson counter?”

TBH, these decks are a little disappointing for me. No Specializations for the heroes and no Mentors like the Monarch decks make me a little sad. :(
This is 100% fair as an established player.
No mentors is a bummer and almost lead me not to buy them. That said, I purchased them for teaching purposes, as they are WAY better than the Monarch decks at introducing new players to the game.
