    “Hey welcome everyone. In this video we will be showing you how to connect your DVR or NVR to the internet. The Indirect Route of connection is easier to setup but it goes through a third party and streams slower. The Direct Route is a bit more complicated but it does not go through a third party and therefore streams faster. Let’s get started shall we?”
    “First we need to secure the DVR or NVR with a password. Now we need to check the internet connection. If the status is offline, press the auto configuration button for it to establish connection. Once the status is online, the device is ready. We need to download the compatible APP for the device. We press on the add recorder button. The Cloud ID can be found in the Fast Network Section. The Password is the same as we set before. The website address to connect to the camera by the indirect route will be stated at the System Version or Information page. Once we enter the cloud id and the password just like in the mobile APP and after clicking on Login, we can connect to the device through the third party. The third party may require you to download and install one of their controls. Only perform this action if it is the manufacturer of the device or a trusted source. Refresh the browser once the setup is complete. Click on Connect all, to begin the streaming”
    “For the Direct route, first we need to fix the local ip address of the device. We turn off DHCP in order to input the address. We also need to change the Web Port from the default 80 to any preffered port number. We will thereafter goto Fast Network page to check if the device is corrected connected to the internet”
    “Afterwards you need to contact your ISP with regard to two settings. The first question you should ask is, does my internet connection have a static or dynamic IP address. If it is static, then you do not need a DDNS account. But if it is dynamic, then you need to create a new DDNS account. The second question is, does my internet connection have a private or public ip address. If it is a private IP address, then you should make a request for your ISP to change it from private to public.”
    “After that’s one, we need to create a DDNS account. No-IP is a well known provider so we will use that. If you opt in for the free account, you need to confirm your hostname every 30 days. After confirming your account from the email you receive from No-IP, your hostname will be active. Now we need to link the hostname to either the router or your video recording device, we will show you both methods”
    “After setting up the DDNS, we need to set up the port forwarding function. The port can be checked by using an online port checker. Type in the hostname of the No-IP account, and the Port of the recording device. If it says the port is open, that means the necessary settings are complete”
    “When using the direct route, we do not add the cloud id, instead we click on IP/Domain Name, and enter the hostname, thereafter the port number and the password of the device. As you can see it loads much faster than using the Cloud ID. When connecting through a PC, you need to type in the hostname, a colon, and then the port number in the address bar of the browser”
    “If your internet connection is slow, and the video lags, you can tweak the settings to reduce the frame rate and the video quality so that the video does not lag. You could also playback or backup videos remotely. Remote backup will not work properly if your internet connection does not have the necessary speeds.”

    Which dahua or hikvision Dvr or NVR models support switchable wifi / ethernet connection? The idea is that if they cut the internet from the home and electricity to enter and the dvr loses internet connection to notify, it will automatically connect to a phone with 4g hotspot activated and continue working (not that you have to choose between one or the other and some will be disabled ). I solve the power failure with a UPS.

      Um nope I wasnt talking bout a firmware for the NVR in the video. The file I was talking bout was a software to be installed into the PC in order to view the cameras. So if the file is corrupted, it may infect your PC. Cant trust cheap products.

      Yes, port forwarding is necessary. You should configure the port forwarding on the router. So the router can forward the incoming connection into the NVR.

    I have same NVR which u used in your video and when I connect it to my router it's not showing its status as online. My NVR not going online after connecting it with router.
    I'm easily access my internet with the help of my router.
    My router IP is 10.54.9.254
    My NVR and router both are in same ip network with the help of DHCP use.
    But its status is not turning into online.
    Later on I directly connected my NVR LAN cable into pc LAN port and connect my pc through WiFi with my mobile hotspot.
    Now I bridged my both Ethernet port and WiFi adaptor. Then use DHCP in NVR and tried to auto configured. At this time my NVR ip is 192.168.43.71
    By using above method my NVR is online and I can access it remotely by using true cloud app.
    But I want to connect it by my router and LAN only. Pls advise why my NVR not turning online with router.
    One more thing I want to add that I am not able to access my router configuration since it's blocked by isp.

    • @keshbyte
      @keshbyte  Před 5 lety

      Hi there, there might be two ports which you will need to port foward in a DVR, the HTTP and Media (or Mobile) Port. Port forward both and try using the Media Port on your mobile app to view the DVR stream. (Replace the HTTP port you inserted into your app with the Media Port). Using chrome to view the stream may not work, because it requests for Flash Player. Let me know what happens :)

    Good morning
    I've recently installed a 16 x camera cctv system at my home.
    I did the installation myself.
    Everything works perfectly however remote access has been nothing short of a nightmare.
    I have followed every instruction possible from every possible video on CZcams and nothing will stream.
    Here is what i did...
    1) i logged into my DVR and ascertained what the IP address is
    2) IP address was 192.168.8.120
    3) Media Port number was 34522
    4) I then logged into my wifi router
    5) I added a virtual server with the above IP addresses for both ports 80 & 34522
    6) The router accepted the addition of this server
    7) I then went to "canyouseeme.org"
    8) It was confirmed that both port 80 and 34522 can be seen and nothing was blocked
    9) It yielded a public IP address which i am supposed to use in the URL to access the cameras
    10) This is where the frustration starts.
    11) I cannot access the cameras using the public ip address
    12) I then went to my phone
    13) I installed "N-EYE PRO" as stated in the instruction manual
    14) I put in the IP address with username and password of the dvr
    15) I entered the media port number 34522
    16) NO SUCCESS JUST FRUSTRATION

    • @keshbyte
      @keshbyte  Před 5 lety

      Does the video stream to your phone while you are inside the network. I dont mean using the public IP. Can you connect and stream via the local IP address (in your case the 192.168.8.120) of the CCTV, while your phone is connected to the network to which your DVR is connected to?

    • @45Dellortos
      @45Dellortos Před 5 lety +1

      @@keshbyte No...that's the problem. I cannot stream at home neither when away. However "canyouseeme" gives me the green light on both #80 and #34522 ports. It just gives me "server not available" messages on NEyePro. This morning at work while away it gave me "login failed no login credentials returned" messages when using the public port.
      I am using N-Eye Pro on my mobile phone. I enter the dvr username and password correctly. I then enter the media port #34522 together with the public ip OR the direct DVR IP when at home. Unsuccessful in both cases. I am losing sleep over this :) I won't stop until i get it right... i am using a Huawei B315 LTE Router with a 580 AHD 16 DVR set.

    • @keshbyte
      @keshbyte  Před 5 lety

      That means the issue is between the DVR and Router. Your portforwarding seems to be alright. Can you recheck the DVR IP address, see if it is set to be static, and also if the router has the feature, check the devices connected to the router on the router web page and see if the DVR shows up. Lemme know what you find and lets continue from there.
