    Thanks. An alternative to MySQL could be a web api, maybe a backend-less one like Airtable.

      Thanks, I will add that to my reading list. I have done and seen others using a RESTful API to the backend, but I have not heard of Airtables. Thanks!

    It would definitely have been impressive if you turned that in for the original contest. The teacher would have been really freaked out once the Atari started talking after they eventually invented Wi-Fi.

      Why? I can modify and add words without having to connect to the esp. of course, there are numerous ways to solve a problem.

    Sounds like a convoluted way to do what S.A.M. could do in 1985 with no add-on hardware.

      That uses much/most of the CPU cycles. This allows for adding speech to any software, including 60fps action games.
