Project Zomboid is an open-world isometric video game in development by British and Canadian independent developer The Indie Stone. The game is set in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested exclusion zone of the fictional Knox Country, Kentucky, where the player is challenged to survive for as long as possible before inevitably dying.

You get seeds by waiting for them to mature "seed bearing" versions of themselves. It will say "Ready to Harvest", but if it doesn't say "Seed bearing" then WAIT to harvest until it says it!! Otherwise you won't get seeds back, and will have to find more.
The amount of fuel in generators doesn't affect their weight. And also, you can pick up a generator at any amount of your own encumbrance, you simply need to "Right-click, Take Generator".
When you make fish, it's recommended that you grab a knife (perhaps one of the 3 hunting knives you found in the closet of your new home) and fillet the fish prior to cooking them. Eat what you can, and Freeze the rest.
With firearms, so long as you have the requisite Shotgun Shells on you, hitting 'R' will reload your weapon.
To add the sling to your weapon, (or any "Weapon Part") you need to be holding a screwdriver.
Potatoes don't cook. You can add them to a Soup, Stew, or Stir fry, but they don't cook individually. (Which is...dumb, since a baked potato is extremely different compared to a raw one, but... PZ is still technically early access I suppose. 🤷
You'll want to let your clothes finish washing, else they don't get clean.
For clarification on how clean they are, when you hover over them (at any time, in or out of the wash) you'll see a 'Dirty' indicator with a bar showing to what degree of "dirtiness" your clothing is.
A great way to use up Stale meats, and veggies, is to cook them into a Stew. All you need is a cooking pot with water. The water can even be "Tainted" rain/lake water, since it's being boiled in the process of cooking the food.
All cans need can openers, EXCEPT for Tuna, and Corned Beef.
All rotten food (of ANY kind) should be put into the Composter. They're very cheap, and easy to make, and create compost to increase your farms productivity. Even just growing a few crops will get your farming skill up in a hurry!
I'll leave it at that, but... I put a LOT of time into this game. Ironically, _PARTIALLY_ after watching your videos of it! So, if any of the above points help in any way, I'll feel like I've paid it forward just a bit. Especially since I likely wouldn't have ended up buying/playing this game if not for your videos on it.

At higher cooking levels you are use rotten food.
You can put already cooked fillets bck into into any cooking tool (oven, fire etc) and mouse over it, once its "warm" you will it gives a "happy" boost, eat it then rather than cold
A bowl is an amazing tool to have on you. You can make salads and fruit salads as long as you have a knife. These will give huge boost to mood and also can be a way to use stale food.
I use a mod that lets you cook potatoes into jacket potatoes as yeah thats an annoying oversight lol
Do you know where the farm with the pond and military checkpoint is?
Canned sardines can also be opened without a can opener. ^^

Also...on a tangentially related topic... I don't know if it's because they haven't yet reached their game's "peak population", or if they just have their zombie numbers set fairly low... But Louisville, for me, was an ABSOLUTE *_SHIT SHOW_* of Zomboids. Literally 1,000's swarming EVERYWHERE...
In any case, I'm definitely interested in this as a series. I may even be inspired to pick the game back up where I left off. I put something like 1,000+ hours into it (at between 6-10 hours per day) before purchasing Vampire Survivors, and finding myself playing that game every day now, instead of _just_ PZ.
Hopefully I can provide some measure of assistance to Kevin, via this/these comment(s). He is, after all, one of the reasons I bought, and started playing, Project Zomboid to begin with... Which makes it feel funny to be giving him advice and info about the game and it's mechanics, since he definitely started playing before me.
But, I suspect, he _likely_ has a bit of a life.. whereas, I do not. Meaning I can dedicate 6-10 hours a day, 7 days a week, to playing (and learning) PZ.
Kevin and Max are honestly the best duo. Funny and comforting, love it

@@dukeofthedance8062 No problem. I'm interested in that run as well, but I've never seen it before, and I've marathoned all of Kevin's playthroughs of this game.
I'm not sure you're thinking of Kevin, because he doesn't really do runs like that very often. Best I can remember is his run with guy 2 which lasted like, three videos maybe. Everything else is random gimmicks per video
I haven't been watching Kevin from the start of the playthroughs though, so I'm not very sure. Good luck finding your playthrough though

Max or whoever you are playing with, has the speed demon perk which makes you faster when driving AND makes your vehicle louder when reversing. also when overencumbered, it will only damage you down to 75 health. The reason you are soaked is sweat. the temperature outside is high and youre wearing COATS

I love hearing Max picking up Kevinisms as they play (I'm sure Kevin is picking up Maxisms too but Kevin's are just more obvious to me) I love when friends start sounding the same from spending time together, it's so fun

51:37 If you want to mend the broken windows, you can pick up windows with the pick up tool on the left side of the screen and replace the broken ones with ones you collect from other buildings
You also need a crowbar handy for the job
And decent carpentry skills. Otherwise you just end up breaking most windows you try to pick up.
But yes, it's very doable to replace broken windows.
I do wish you could do the same with doors though. Annoys me to have to make those ugly wooden doors to replace mine because a zombie smashed it while I was away, when there's a town full of perfectly useable pristine doors out there. Pity this still isn't a thing even though it should be easier than replacing a window...
@@johanwittens7712that’s really weird that you can replace/rehang recycled windows but not recycled doors, because like you said it seems like replacing doors would be much easier to do.
40:15 In response to the question Max asked about bags, yes, using a bag does have a weight reduction effect; but based on what I interpreted the question as on the underlying tones, Bagception wouldn't really be worth the hassle on a consistent basis.
20:36 Btw Kev when your character gets this tired, either sit on the ground or right click on a chair and select rest. I’ve lost too many characters by pushing it whilst exhausted 😂 Very happy to see more Zomboid content as well btw!
I just wonder if Kevin, Max, and the other Irish lads join to create a very chaotic gameplay maintaining farm and building random building and overall just having a good laugh.

Also, IRL Louisville historically manufactured the Louisville Slugger baseball bat. Probably why you found so many in the warehouse.

Hey ! Got a few tips for ya if you read the comments ! So putting stuff in backpacks does help to reduce the weight, I do it all the time. It also saves time transporting stuff too. But basically on backpacks (even bags like trash bags) you have some weight reduction value. You can also rename them, I usually take a lot of trash bags, rename them to "Medicine" "Food" and whatnot, and throw that in the back of my car.
And also, for guns, the best weapon is the shotgun to practice. Simply gather a lot of zombies in a tight spot, get a bit of distance, STOP WALKING as walking severly reduces your character's accuracy, and take a shot once the zombies are green. Also make sure you have no panic moodlets or something, as it also reduces your accuracy.
Loved the last episode. Project zomboid is such a great game.

Fun fact Louisville is actually well known for making baseball bats, the “Louisville Slugger”. So it was pretty funny when the actual baseball bat factory was found in Louisville at 19:43

The parody company made by the devs is "Louisville Bruiser". One would imagine that a slugger would cause bruising. I like when game devs include clever names and jokes in their fictional brands. Like Ready or Not and their parody of Absolut Vodka: Absolutly (Disgusting) Vodka

10:24 Oh yeah, they can also spawn in car doors, and it doesn't tell you (Your character picks it up if they enter the correct door though, but you can get a mod that tells you if they're there).

Louisville Sluggers are world famous baseball bats that are made in Louisville, Ky, hence the baseball bat factory in the game. I live a couple hours away from Louisville, neat to see it as the map in this game. I enjoy watching Kevin and Max play!
