- You can learn how to Crochet this Sweet Simple Handbag in this DIY tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. This is a good beginner purse, tote, or bag to start with, if you know the chain and single crochet stitch. This is crocheted in the round (specifically in a spiral) and then the straps are added at the end. In this video you will also learn how to use magnetic snaps, which are a great alternative to just a button or a zipper. Because the hand bag is crocheted with 2 strands of yarn held together, it is very sturdy, durable, and does not need a lining.

Thank you Miss! I am learning and now on my fourth projects because of your ways of explanation. I just finished two phone cases, one small mat using single crochet, and a small mat using granny square crochet by the way. l just purchased some yarns to make a bonnet, but I will follow your instructions instead and make this bag. Your crochet products are beautiful! And because of you I now am teaching a group of pre-teen girls how to crochet also.

I love this purse. I am making one in light blue and light green for my Summer attire. I am using a shiny glitter crochet thread that I found in the bundled "ends" bin. Not sure what it is but it is really pretty and thin. I wanted a bit more strength in my purse so I am using it in the blue sections and started the blue for the bottom base. I'm going to crochet three rows of the blue, the width of the purse to sew inside to keep things from sliding out of the bottom. Sometimes I will make a liner but most of what I carry is in a make up case to prevent it from sliding out of the holes. When I am done I am going to make the same purse but use the green as the base with the threads for my sister - her fav color is green, mine is blue. Perfect match for both of us!!
