I don't recall seeing this on its original transmission (when I was a young brass band nut) so thank you for posting. You can see that HM is genuinely moved by the birthday presentation at the end which is touching. A thought: HM must've left an enormous personal musical archive when he passed in 1992. The story of his life encompasses so much of the brass band movement. I wonder if any attempt was made to keep this legacy together or was it simply dissipated and lost in the break up of his estate at the time?
