something about Bjork is that she is getting more experimental with every project
Yes! And even though debut seems tame, this was very innovative in the early 1990’s as well. No one in the mainstream would dare touch sounds from traditional Indian background, work with people from Africa and Asia, or incorporate their heritage in a way like the ship horns in anchor song.
I kinda figured especially how she’s revered in the art pop world and those album covers too. This album was great tho👏🏽
YES BJÖRK
Homogenic is sooooo good
@@kail_rockwell I need Jóga injected into my veins...
Can’t wait to get to it!
Vespertine is overrated by Americans not here. Vespertine sucks
@@Alix777. jokes on you, I'm Finnish... and just because you might think something's overrated doesn't make it sucky, lol. I find it so pretentious and forced when people hate on Vespertine just because it's so critically acclaimed. It's a very good album, just maybe not your taste.
I never clicked so fast on a video LOL. I love your reactions and I'm a huge Bjork fan, so I'm very excited for see you diving into her discography (I hope you do). 💗
Thank you thank you thank you🙏🏽 can’t wait to get to it
this is the beginning of a wonderful experience listening to Björk
YESSSSSS what a pleasant surprise. Bjork is an all time fav. An innovator, genius, true artist in every sense of the word.
GLING-GLÓ IS NOT PART OF BJÖRK’S OFFICAL DISCOGRAPHY. IT IS A COLLAB ALBUM WITH A GROUP SHE WAS IN SO MOVE ON TO POST!!!! ❤
I love Gling Glo!
Glad you enjoyed this! Debut is such an interesting album in her discography. Mostly because, exactly as you have just demonstrated here, it’s not what people usually expect from a Björk album when deciding to explore her career. Nowadays when you hear the name, be it from a fan or just common knowledge, it’s usually associated with some weird, convoluted kind of experimentation. Debut doesn’t necessarily fit that definition (though it was a kind of pop experimentation even by the 90s standards) and I would say the album is more informative of her previous work (as the vocalist for an alternative-pop-rock band called The Sugarcubes) rather than representative of her career as a soloist from this point onwards. That’s precisely what makes it soooo funny anticipating your reaction for the opening track to Post. It’s a 180, though don’t worry, you’ll definitely get more Debut-y vibes from her again! Keep it up, thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Exactly Lol it was so unexpected to hear this from her. But then again it is the 90s but still dope to hear that even during that time it was kinda experimental. I still can’t wait to get to her other albums and hear what’s next. I heard great things about Post. Thank you for supporting 🙏🏽
YASSSS BJÖRK REACTIONSSSS SO EXCITED FOR MORE ESPECIALLY HOMOGENIC AND EUTOPIA SINCE ARCA HAS PRODUCED ON IT AND IT WOULD BE SUPERRRRR NICEEEE IF U WOULD ALSO REACT TO SOME OF ARCA'S OLDER STUFF LIKE MUTANT XEN ETC OR SOME OF HER MIXTAPES LIKE @@@@@ &&&&& ENTRAÑAS SHEEP ETC UR REACTIONS ARE THE BESTSTSTS STG
Can’t wait to hear Bjork on some Arca production honestly 👏🏽
“I’m so happy right now!”
Me too!! Also kind of crying :’) I love seeing other people fall in love with the goddess that is this Björk. Welcome to the family.
OMG Vespertine is sooooooo good you're in for a treat, hope you enjoy the rest of her discography
No
@@Alix777. What did Vespertine do to you? lmao
Vespertine is beyond perfection.
so so so so excited for you to get into this discog. it’s absolutely unmatched. vespertine is a perfect perfect 10/10 album
Consider this Debut as the Plane leaving the Terminal. Her next album , Post (1995) is the airplane accelerating down the runway. Homogenic(1997) is the when it Takes flight into the Heavens. You're in for an Amazing Journey 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🌟🌟🌟.
P.s. She's one of the Few artists who's music videos are intricate to the single it corresponds to. It's like the Visual representation of the Musical lyrics (like the Missing piece of a Puzzle) the video Completes it.
That’s what I was thinking. That this album could appeal to the masses but each album it becomes more and more experimental. Really like how you put it btw👏🏽👏🏽
@@elvideoentertainment btw u will tend to always hear classical instruments in her muaic. She was a child prodigy in Music and learned many classical instruments. Thats why she tends to compose and arrange the majority of her music , herself.
Human Behavior explains Humans but from the animals (all of earths creatures) perspective. The music video is trippy but So Bjork. Great Job , my dude . Nyc area here as well .
what a bless making this journey 🤍
seeing you this ecstatic and so happy on her FIRST album has me so excited to go on this bjork journey with you!! IM SO EXCITED
Yeah this album was so much fun! Thank you thank you🙏🏽 I’m happy you’re joining along the ride!
yesssss
IM SO EXCITED OMMMGGG
The instrument in Like Someone in Love isn't a guitar, it's a harp! She's included the harp more and more throughout her career, mainly on Vespertine, Biophilia, and Utopia
One thing to expect with Bjork is the unexpected lmao.
I recently decided to go down the Björk rabbit hole and I had the same reaction to this album! Didn't know what to expect with the production but I loved it!!
Oh I can’t wait for you too see the change in so many of Bjork’s masterpieces, it took me a while to really love it as much as I do, her work really means so much to me
React to Solange “a seat at the table” you’ll enjoy it, it’s a Grammy winning album.
Love that album, my 2nd favorite album of 2016. Seen her live too and she was great and so artsy
hope you have a great journey (: björk is one of my favorite artists, with a great and unique discography. like somebody commented before every björk album is different and she became more experimental with each one.
LOVED every second bro, u had me happy crying by LSiL. So yes the scatting is bjorks own version of Icelandic tribal scatting she has done since a child (she was a big sensation with an album as a small kid and grew up in bands, this is her first adult solo debut). The mix of acid-house and synth has died out so much but this sound wave was everywhere from 95-99 and so this album was so big. I grew up in South Africa and if it wasn’t African music our radios were blasting this 90s pop subgenre. I have so much to say about every track cuz you did such a fantastic job, Thankyou so much for this reaction and happy journey, im looking at your frank ocean stuff too now❤
I hope you react to more of her! 🤞🏻 loved your reaction
YESS WAITING FOR POST!!
was waiting for this one
Gling Glo is a jazz vocal album most of the songs are sung islandic but I personally like it. but have no idea what she's saying lmaoo just love the instrumental that goes with her voice .
its awesome youre getting into björk omgg shes in my opinion the best artist of oat. vespertine and homogenic are considered her best so im very excited for those!! sending much love to u
omg my life has led up to this album
Omggg
We need more reactions to Björk albums!
omg I'm so happy you finally reacted to Björk
Great reaction 🎉
Thank you!! 😁
Her catalog is mind blowing
I am a huge Björk fan and I haven't heard Gling-glo yet. 🤣
I think most if not all people say that it's not an essential Björk album. She has those ten studio albums that most people talk about and I think these are better to listen to first and then return to other things (like the soundtrack for Dancer in the Dark in which she played the main character for example).
Glad, you are listening to Björk now. She is great :) ❤
It's very essential I think.
I remember buying this cd at Tower records and playing it over and over. We were obsessed. This is so nostalgic ❤
Björk is such a genius. I would like you to react to Kelela (a singer Björk adores). Hallucinogen is an EP but it is FIREEE ❤️🔥 saludos desde mexico 🇲🇽
I first listened to Bjork as a kid after I saw her music video for Human Behavior on TV. I was so fascinated by her but one side-effect of "discovering" her so early is that I never got to have the mind-blowing experience everyone seems to have listening to her for the first time as an adult. Bjork was just my baseline for music I liked as a kid rather than something new and experimental. But it was fun seeing my peers' reactions to her as we got older. One of my brother's friends commented in college that hearing Bjork for the first time was like discovering Nirvana for the first time as a teenager; he couldn't believe what he'd been missing!
Like Someone In Love is one of my all time fav songs ever. It’s such a nice song to sing. Makes u feel like ur in love 🥰
Its a cover
welcome to one of the best discographies of all time, every album is different
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
Definitely move onto post
One of my favorite Bjork albums ever! Have you watched Kali Uchi's cover of Venus as a Boy? it's so good!
Be prepared for Vulnicura... (I guess my fav album)
oh baby get ready for the bjòrk ride honey
Omg yess, I hope you'll listen Post soon
I will😄
In 1993 I was the Jr High /high school DJ. For track meets and later full DJ parties w my car.
most awesome bass line
yah missed that brah
Okay I am a music lover bet you'll never think existed... I force music on people, especially my family... friends too .. I can think of three albums that hit me hard it made me buy at least 20 CDs and pass them out to all family and friends... They were Bjork Debut.. Hole - Live Through This and TLC - Crazy Sexy Cool.. but my first time I insisted everyone appreciate music was Sinead O'connor The Lion and the Cobra... I guarantee if anybody listens to any of the at least twice you'll never go back.. you should watch MTV unplugged and you will need to change your underwear..🤪
Gonna sneak this in here-- but I think if you like Björk, then you'll love AURORA, her discography is definitely a journey.
Some albums u dont need to do but just look at her MAIN album and can't wait for u to do vespertine one of my favorite albums ever
If you like the beat on Human Behavior, check out the song Let It Roll by Hieroglyphics; they sampled it.
My fave has always been "I play dead"......from Romeo Bleeding::))
omg yess bjork is genius
I love Gling Glo! but it's a jazz record.
you NEED to listen to all 10 of her studio albums
Björk ❤❤❤❤
Glinglo is just a side project, next stop should be Post
I feel like you’ll definitely love her album post and homogenic!
You’re not ready for the rawness of björk
Great reaction as always! I totally agree with all of your takes.
Have you ever considered reacting to Taylor Swift? I feel like you’d respect the pen game. ESP. Red.
Anyways - thanks for the great vid as always 😌💜
I'll check it out! Thank you and appreciate the support🙏🏽
You have to check out Kali Uchis’s cover of Venus as a boy
I agree! Great stuff, Kali did amazing at honoring the original while still adding her own personality to the song. Hope he does check it out at some point!
What were you expecting? 😊
So happy over Debut and it’s regarded by most as her least best (maybe other than volta)
That’s crazy, I like this album, it’s good. This album is so much fun
YESSS POST, HOMOGENIC, VESPERTINE, VULNICURA ARE ESSENTIAL
Me gustaría que reaccionaras de los álbumes de Madonna de preferencia sus eras de los 90s
Post, Homogenic and Vespertine ❤
PLEASE react to Bjork & Rosalia´s new track!!!
Jazz on a harp..
DESTIN CONRAD -SATIN EP
i would just go to Post and maybe listen to that on your own time. It's a jazz album and it's good but not essential and doesn't really fit when it comes to the evolution of Bjork through her studio albums.
Her first five albums and Vulnicura are essential in my opinion.
@@k33l4nyes
That’s what I figured. I saw it and wanted to ask cause I know there might be people that want me to listen to it. But I’m definitely going to Post
*Generic comment from a Bjork stan
