    Awesome in-depth review Kevin! For PC gaming this controller offers so much value. Essentially a GameSir G7 with upgraded Hall Effect thumbsticks. Since GameSir goes this hard with a $40 controller, I'd like to see what they can do with a $70 "pro" controller. Definitely gonna cop a T4 Kaleid!

      I would want a bigger version. With trigger stops, and a tall stick for the right thumbstick, 4 paddles instead of 2. And its basically what every xbox/ps/pc user has been wanting. We would easily pay 150-200 for it. Cause what we're getting for that money now, is kind of a joke.

    I think I am going to grab this bad boy. I can't wait any longer for a decent pro controller with hall effect sticks and this checks out most of my boxes. $40 for Halleffect, mechanical face buttons and rear buttons seems super nice. Although I wish the trigger stops were actually physical and not just software swtich and the dpad had mechanical switches as well but if Kevin says this is the best membrane dpad he tried im gonna trust him on this. My poor OG Razer Wolverine Tournament edition is starting to give out unfortunately after good 5 years of use. Dpad up has double-clicking issues and sticks are drifting harder than Formula Drift drivers

    Love hall effect sticks, own a controller with them in it. The idea that there is no physical touching is mostly correct but there's an important part people don't tend to talk about that I'm interested in which is the internal bits of the sticks that hold the stick post in place, because that is most likely going to become the point of failure. All of the little pieces in there are molded plastic with some lube and it's already a small contributor to drift in classic potentiometer sticks. When they get used they wear down both by shedding bits of plastic and becoming misshaped, and the lube degrades causing them to have a harder time returning back to center. Even with hall effect sticks, if the sticks themselves don't return back to dead center over time your dead zones will still most likely need adjusting so I'm a little weary of saying they will never get drift

    • @skylinesenpai5554
      @skylinesenpai5554 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Thank you. Sometimes you gotta think they all get paid to do these Reviews because of course these Hall Effect sticks can and will develope drift because their internal moving parts are gonna degrade with use. It maybe last a whole damn time longer but in the end materiel degradation will still get em.

Just from a feel and aesthetic POV along with it being the first hall effects controller I've ever bought, it could have cost more and I wouldn't complain. It's already given me inspiration for what my ideal controller would be if I could design one. The clicky face buttons, the smooth thumbsticks, the rear buttons sitting snugly where it's easy for even my tiny babbi fingers to reach. Totally worth the 1700PHP price. I do hope they release a wireless/bluetooth version someday. Kinda like the Gamesir G4 Pro.

      I only got the controller a few weeks ago so I really can't tell yet if the bumpers wear down easily. I'll come back to you in a few years for that lol.
      Also do correct me if I'm wrong, but the "Hall Effect" only applies to the thumbstick/joysticks not to the Bumpers. The Bumpers do feel solid and click-y and quite easy to press. Love the texture on it too. I've only been using budget controllers my whole life so the T4 DJ Kaleid is a joy to use.

    PlayVital's cap set shown here fits perfectly but, on the left stick, by touching the shell that is not recessed enough, it creates a jump like the ugly bump of a dying potentiometer, between high left and high position.
    It can become unnoticeable by twisting the cap around so its skirt gets thinner enough, but it can come back with time. Solution I found was adding one of these thin silicon ring made to protect analog's axe. It works perfectly (no calibration needed, 100% move is still detected), and adds a good soft feeling when bouncing the analog against gamepad's shell, and makes it almost silent when playing lightly and way more discrete and pleasant when playing hard.
    These suckers are way too overpriced for what they are, but completely solved the issue with PlayVital's set, protect against ware, and make the overall experience way better.

I’ve noticed that each controller I’ve bought has a bit of a difference in stick tension and a tiny amount of drift, but found one that felt really good. Out of the box, It’s probably my favorite controller I’ve used overall compared to several of the other budget options out there including most of the Power A controllers. This might be the one for me. I've been off gaming for almost a year now, and my friends have hopped on Warzone II and I'd like to join them. That was, until I turned my PS5 controller on and COMPLETELY FORGOT my left thumbstick drifts worse than Tokyo. I was looking at a few controllers just to hop back in quickly without breaking the bank for the Dualsense Edge with no Hall Effects. I was this close to buying the KingKong Pro 2 until this video popped up right after. I'm gonna miss DS4 Windows but times change and I must move on. 😅😅

    I've bought it after watching your review, and I can say it's an excellent controller, at least in XInput mode. No problems there. I'm having trouble in Nintendo Switch Pro mode on PC, more especifically on vibration. For some reason the controller doesn't seem to stop vibrating once it receives a signal. It only stops when I press the home button. It will do keep doing that again after it receives a vibration signal again. Right now I'm on the lastest T4K App running latest firmware. XInput mode works fine, Nintendo Switch Pro has this problem, DInput is recognized as a PS4 controller for some reason, but doesn't have vibration, neither gyroscope function.

    Known about gulikit's king Kong 2 pro for a while and recently caved in and bought it.
    A couple weeks later after I got it I learned gamesir released the Kaleid and I was quite miffed. I like the look of the Kaleid, hall effect joysticks are a godsend, and the back buttons are a huge benefit over the king Kong 2 pro.

    Thank you for the video this looks like a must buy! I have been searching for a wired hall effect controller with gyro and at least 2 back paddles that works on windows.
    I previously used Dualsense with the Extremerate custom 4 paddle kits. Did that twice, both controllers showed stick drift within a few weeks. Seemed a massive waste or pot luck. This controller however, looks to have everything i would like. I just received the 8bitdo bluetooth ultimate but it ONLY uses gyro when in bluetooth mode.
    If you were trying to find a back paddled/gyro/hall effect/wired/Not xinput etc.. would this be the only option? Appreciate any advice thank you!

    I don't recommend this controller if you plan on keeping it for very long as they use 1mm thick plastic for the triggers and it literally broke after dropping it 2.5 feet onto thick carpet and when I put it in the box for a few months because it was broken it didn't even turn on so I can't say this is a quality controller, just a cheap option that will last about a year.

    You *can* have stick drift even with hall effect stick modules. The reason for this is that in many modules the inner spring mechanism wears out and the stick is no longer positioned 100% in the middle when you let go of it. I've seen that with many PowerA controllers. The potentiometers are perfectly fine, but the stick itself is worn out. And here you can only work with a larger dead zone. In this respect, I doubt that Hall Effect sensors are really the future. They are mechanically not as vulnerable, but also less precise and more expensive.

    • @noWoodsman
      @noWoodsman Před rokem

      No sh*t, but hall effect thumbsticks will last WAYYY longer than normal thumbstick, and therefor it will be the future for people that aren't stupid enough to fall for the big brands.

    • @Wurstifier
      @Wurstifier Před rokem

      @@GamerHeavenOfficial I know ;) I'm only saying this because you mainly test brand new controllers. However, I get a lot of controllers for repairs and as a result I often see the failures caused by people mishandling their sticks. And that's where hall sensors don't help. And I say that because in most cases (>70%) the springs in the module are worn out and the potentiometers are still perfectly fine.
      Of course, bad potentiometers can cause stick drift or stick flicker. But that is less often the case than you might think. This mostly occurs with PS5 controllers. With the original Xbox it is more the spring, as well as with e.g. PowerA with the FJM10K modules.
      Again: This was not a criticism of you or your video, but information for all those who believe that modules with hall effect sensors are indestructible.
      Incidentally, what I like about this controller is that you can use the software to change the dead zone afterwards and save it in the controller. That's very helpful! Too bad you can't use it on Xbox.
