• Elliott Smith Live, 29...
In November '98 Elliott Smith appeared on a Dutch TV show called "2 Meter Sessions". There's an interview interspersed with some live recordings. - Hudba
he had such a warped image of himself, he was so talented. but then again, without that he wouldn't make such beautiful music
I saw this on television! It was then that I got to know and love Elliott Smith. So nice see this again! Thanks a lot!
I love how he stops. I love that about him. He didn't care where he was playing, if he didn't want to play it, he won't.
Man, he was a charming gent. I love his music, but I honestly had no idea what to expect that his regular talking voice sounded like, and this not only revealed that but really seems to have captured some of his personality. I miss you Elliott. RIP.
I like how Elliott just stopped in the song, I mean I love the song a lot... But it just show's how real his music is, how he said "It's better to play it and mean it then to just walk through it."
thanks for sharing.
I'll never know you now Eliot, but I love you anyhow.
The moment he quits the song brings its part of truth and magic.
Great songwriter, great performer and sincere man.
His face is a suffering one and he'll be forgiven him for killing Elliot Smith !
Hope he's in peace.
this man was a beautiful song write. youll have to lay in the grass and heard his words, sad to say a dead mans words r.i.p. elliott your music will live on
YES! THANK YOU
It's interesting that Elliott stopped where he did. It's the climax of the song, and the lyric is:
_"I'm here today and expected to stay_
_On and on and on_
_I'm tired"_
Makes me wonder if the lyric was reflecting his feelings about doing the interview and performing in that moment, and given the effort required to sing that section with the climactic feel it called for, maybe he just couldn't stand feeling inauthentic.
Whatever the case, watching this makes me sad that one of my favorite artists of all time left us far too soon.
I love that he's so modest.
YES YOU ARE ELLIOTT!
That's Waltz #2 :)
It actually is a Gibson ES-330, which is basically the same as a Casino.
"I'm the wrong kind of person to be big and famous"....i love him for that
LOVE
he was a beautiful person.
Bach, Elliott smith and Monteverdi, for me.
that guy in the white suit with the dirty hair! omg elliott your honesty makes me feel like at least i can witness about a pure person in this world! miss you terribly
3:45 shocked me! I almost started crying :(
@kuapo Yeah I think all artists have that... I mean everyone has good nights and bad nights, but on the other hand it's like that for every job. Sometimes you're into what your doing and sometimes you're doing it just because you have to, it's life
i think it was a casino. lennon also used one. he loved the beatles
Dear youtube, theres a problem. This video has a dislike button, please fix this :)
"understand" is not the word...
"feel"

@jcald420 Or, because people just aren't into it maybe? It isn't for everyone
Okay baby, I don't think it was, but you can have your cake.

gotta wonder what he would've sounded like if he didn't smoke..

he can speak his mind well. his music? hes a musician not a professional interviewee.
I love elliot smith but top five of all time is a little bit of hyperbole mate. And I'm from the northwest and grew up worshipping smith, corgan and kobain
