The absolute most fun school I've ever been to. If your Navy or coast guard and get a chance to go VBSS id do it!
It was definitely one of the funnest schools I’ve been to while in the Navy.
Im a Marine but this looks fun as hell and right up our alley.
Got to go thru this school. Best part was the fighting everyday

VBSS is a crazy collateral duty. Glad to see they're using better boats than the RHIBs we used
We aren't, they used a clip of seal teams doing boarding, we are still using shity 7 meters or 11 meters rhinbs. And almost never do boarding anymore. They didn't even teach repelling at the school anymore.
In the CG there wasn’t much training when I was in. Day or two of telling you what to do . Pray and jump. Good luck. Definitely didn’t have gear like that. Pistol, rifle or shotgun. Pants shirt boots. That’s it.

We also bring on our HM's, and tell them if their vessel is seaworthy, served under Bush Jr. and mainly searched for crude oil 🛢, found it 3 times, gimme that! The US is gangster
If there is any percieved threat, they wont go onboard. Itll be Coast Guard or a SEAL Team.

You would think they would equip boarding parties with short barreled weapons for close quarters engagements on a ship. I wouldn’t want someone hiding in a corner being able to grab my barrel that I couldn’t bring back fat enough in those tight spaces.
First man on board wields a 12 gauge, my opinion the best option in the boarding situation
Maybe if you're part of a seal team doing boarding but us normal navy boarding teams aren't doing that, haven't for years.

I see they used a video of a SEAL team doing boarding at the end to get your attention. VBSS sailors that go to this school will probably never get to do a boarding and they'll do in on a shitty 7 meter or maybe and 11 meter RHIB. Don't let them lie to you, VBSS school has been severely watered down this isn't the early 2000's we aren't doing many/any boarding these days.

Can MA do it?
yes but you have to be with MESG or have MESG orders
If your E6-E7 on independent duty orders to a DDG or small deck anphib. MESG orders will get you stuck on a MSC ship doing escorts the chances of an MA getting assigned to a boat team these days are slim to none, the bm's, gm's etc etc. get those.
Only special folk get to do this so if your a deck seaman you will stay there.
if you mean 'special forces' by special folks then no. other rates can go thru it as well.
@@markpelayo2969 Nope so says the CPO mess. Like my BMCM said you where sent to deck department for a reason. Thus all sailors that come in undesignated are cursed to the boatswains mate locker FOREVER!!!
