- Philippine Life: Carabaos are incredible hardworking animals that are used for work and farming tasks in South East Asia. Carabaos (water buffaloes) plow fields, carry and move heavy objects and they are even used for transportation. The Carabao symbolizes strength, power, efficiency, perseverance, and most of all, hardwork. Carabaos can adapt well to a hot and humid weather. However, water is important for their survival! That is why they always need to wallow in swamps and mud, or to be splashed with water for them to reduce thermal stress. Despite changes in technology, rural farmers in the Philippines still rely heavily upon the Carabao. The farmers work with carabaos, instead of modern machinery, which can struggle to get through the paddy fields and which the farmers often cannot afford. The life of a carabao is hard. In addition to the hard work, the carabao has to cope with the tropical heat in muddy waterholes. Another burden is the fight against unbearable vermin such as mosquitos and leeches.

Good evening Albert L & Family. Greetings from FIL-AM Nonna. When I was very young, my brother and I visited the barrio of our yaya. We witnessed the hardworking carabao plowing the ricefield. Since then, I never tasted the meat of a carabao or water buffalo. God bless you all !

Hardworking carabaos. Would be best to add wheels to the cart when they're transporting heavy load of wood, to give relief to their muscles woudnt it? Some consideration goes a long way. 🌻
Wheels are expensive, farmers are often poor. - The sliding trailer can hurdle obstacles offside the road in the muddy field much better.

that rope through the nose seems very inhumane .they should try a ring or some thing that makes the animal comfortable

di naman kawawa ang kalabaw kasi inaalagaan din yan ng magsasaka at kung hindi naman magtatrabaho ang magsasaka wala tayong kakainin lalo na dyan nanggagaling ang mga palay at bigas natin
