Boros had the same heartbeat in this fight before his final attack as the one Saitama had in his dream at the start of the season fighting the subterraneans. Saitama gave Boros what he himself cannot get.

Saitama gave Boros what they both have always wanted: to face a worthy opponent, a challenge, a new goal they can reach for. Boros searched the entire galaxy looking for purpose. Saitama will never have that opportunity.
Yeah in the last episode I feel so bad for Saitama for this reason, just imagine what it would have felt like when someone who called himself "the dominator of the world" and was defeated by him so easily, how he may have realised that there might not be a Saitama for him out there like boros did

There were only four fights I've been looking forward to, because I mean at the pace of season one, season one was about making the Boros fight even happen and have an impact. But among those four fights I really wanted to see was Saitama and Tatsumaki. If you guys don't read the manga, I can't recommend it enough.

Only the hero association did and to their knowledge he was gone up in smoke with his whole base and only zombie man just reported the apparent eof armored gorilla as a remnant and nothing else. Plus she's not the type of person to ask anyone for help

In fact, it was boros who won the battle, not Saitama, all his life he was yearning for a battle where he can go all out achieving his life goal Which is complete satisfaction. hence The Shining light above him in the last shot and Saitama walking back to darkness empty handed again. That's why they picked "the strongest hero" for saitama with sad music not as a reward or gift but more like a curse

I like the layers of this episode.
Some of Saitama's ex enemies are trying to make a living, and appeared terrified of the invasion.
The weakest heroes are evacuating the civilians.
The strongest class except tatsumaki are taking on the boss villain on the ground.
Tats is basically soloing the whole giant starship.
Saitama is cleaning up from inside - ironically his boss battles have been devastating the ship anyway. Had he not been there, tats would have won if not for Borus, but I doubt she could take him.

Yeah about ep 12. Boros tanking Saitama’s punches doesn’t actually mean anything, he was just wayyyyyy stronger and far more durable than all the recent monsters, Saitama could’ve one punched him too if he wanted but since Boros shared the same boredom as him, he decided to prolonge the fight to give Boros what he himself couldn’t get, a real fight. Sadly Saitama still got bored from that, don’t mind how many time he got ragdolled for a while in this fight, Saitama did it on purpose to see if he could feel anything from Boros blows, which he didn’t. Another easy fight for him when you think about it.
Still, it was nice of Saitama to give his enemy the thrill of a challenge, even so.
I have a theory, Saitama lets people/monsters hit him so he knows how much power he needs to use to defeat them. Boros was holding back too, so Saitama underestimated how much power to use. Once Boros went all out then Saitama figured out he needed to use a serious punch to beat him once and for all.

@@davemakron1977 Deep sea king did punch him and he called it weak. Lion king tried to attack him and he dodged them all, maybe he could tell by the speed? Mosquito girl, you got me there, but he slapped her, that wasn't even a punch.

I forgot to wonder why would he need to tank hits to know how much power he would need when that’s not the case for Sonic. When you think about it, Sonic never actually hit Saitama but Saitama still knows how much power he has to hold back to not kill him, but your theory still stands don’t worry about it

It's a bit simillar to when Saitama's punch stop the rain as he punch the Deep Sea King.
That punch from Boros can actually kill some S Class Hero.
Super fun and enjoyable watching your reactions. One can tell the feels are genuine. Looking forward to exploring more of your content. Some of my other favs (besides the big 3) are: Log Horizon, Sword Art Online, Fate/Stay series, One Punch Man, and recently, Solo Levelling.
One of my favorite things about one punch man is that whenever Saitama faces an enemy alone and kills them quickly, we really have no idea how strong they are. I believe its cannon that Vaccine Man, the first monster we ever see, was really dangerous, like a demon or dragon level enemy, but saitama kills them so fast that we can’t even really gauge their full power. Same with Groribas and Geryuganshoop. Goribas is apparently a dragon level threat, which means he has some power that could let him destroy an entire city, he might’ve been able to beat every other hero, but we’ll never know cause saitama pummeled him too fast.
The reveal that this is actually the first serious punch we see in the series always gets me
That last bit between Tatsumaki, Saitama & Genos is so funny.
Boros saying "Saitama the strongest hero" at the end has the same feel in a different tone as Madara declaring Might Guy the strongest.

That last scene with Boros is so sad to me... which is exactly why if you wished that Boros somehow didn't die and became a reacurring character, I recommend you watch 'What If Boros Turned Good' by Satori.

Most reactors mistake Boros for having a marble but he doesn't, Boros's race come from a planet with an extremely hostile environment and they evolved immense regenerative abilities and latent energy that far surpasses any other species and thing that is damaged here at 24:47 is actually the power sphere that kept the ship running and afloat, and for people wondering why Boros couldn't regenerate after Saitama's Serious Punch? It's because he used up all of his latent energy within his body for his final attack "the Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon", and Boros explains that he uses his latent energy to speed up his regeneration process, so therefore when he fired his final attack, he did not have any latent energy left in him to regenerate.
Edit: 32:44 sorry for mentioning this but BOROS IS NOT A GOD, he is just a ridiculously OP alien warrior that shares the same problem and sentiment as Saitama
fun fact , boros was the villain of a manga ONE (OPM creator) made when he was a kid (20 yrs before opm started) but he was too strong and couldnt be beaten so 20 yrs later and a prophecy he meets saitama and is beaten by him
One of the greatest animate ever. The boss fight on episode 12 is phenomenal. I just wish that one day we get to see the fight between Saitama vs. Cosmic Garou in full animation. That would be EPIC!!

When I first watched the show I wanted to see Geryuganshoop do cool stuff. I love characters with telekinesis and I love purple with a space-type theme and I love tentacle characters, so I was so excited to see him do stuff, then he just gets killed instantly 😭.

I can't explain too much in depth without spoiling but Amai Mask may grow on you over a long period of time. Interestingly enough from your current interactions with him you can think of it as he's kind of like the other side of the coin of All Might. He wants S Class to be the pillars of justice that everyone can rely on and strive to be. That's why he got so mad that they seemingly bungled so bad and let the city be destroyed. You'll see more of this interesting personality with Season 3 and beyond.
Not to mention, he's the one running PR campaigns and getting investments for Hero Association.

It's a common fan theory that since Saitama wasn't a match for Boros but instead effortlessly thrashed him and didn't rekindle his love of combat, that the prophecy was actually referring to the next big antagonist after Boros, who would have been a proper fair fight for him. (not gonna say their name here to minimize actual spoilers)
I think it's a fun idea, but it would also be on brand for the show if the alien oracle simply invented the prophecy out of nowhere to get Boros to leave her planet, just like how he says in the episode that it must have been bullshit

Mirroring Saitama's dream in ep 1 but with Boros as the one in Saitama's place is such perfect framing, and just like with Saitama it was a false dream, but for another reason. Neither person ultimately got what they hoped for from that fight.
Now if you look back at solo leveling and look at what he to do with his exercises that he had to do every day, it’s a callback to one Punch man 😉

Do the OVA's before season 2, for more lore on the world. Also S2 wont be as good animation wise because it was done by a different studio with less time and S1 had TONS of high profile animators working on it which is almost impossible to live up to by most other studios.

I know you're going to watch season 2 after this (and that you're probably recording these well in advance of releasing them on youtube) but I just feel like this is a decent time to mention: Whenever you feel like you have the time or "reaction slot" over, if you haven't seen them already, I would really like to suggest That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Apothecary Diaries as possible next anime to watch. I think I have a decent read on what kind of anime you might like and I seriously think you can't go wrong with either of these. Oh yeah, or Mob Psycho 100, like I commented on another video. All of them are solid choices.

It happens a little bit in the future chapters. There will be really big monster with crazy regeneration. Saitama acsidentially slap one of his tentacles and vibrations from this hit start to pulverize his body on molecular level. So yeah saitama can even destroy regenerators.
