Just a heads up, this works with most tvs. If you happen to have a Toshiba fire tv, forget it. The tv will go into sleep mode and the xfinity remote will not wake the TV. After you use toshiba remote to wake it up the xfinity remote will work fine, this seems to be an issue with the newer tvs only.
Unfortunately, I don't have the tv code ( it's a Samsung ) I replaced another XR-2. Using an Xfinity cable box. Channel up / down works. Volume shows a different type of volume bar and doesn't change the volume level. Power button works, channel button works, and the mute button as well. In short, the cable functions work, but the volume won't connect to the tv, oh well.
My xfinity xr2 remote: works variously as Volume working; Volume not working; or neither Volume/Channel working (I get picture with no volume and can't change channel, as in now). I use code 991, then select "A" to clear out previous codes, then 991. which works whenever. I put in fresh batteries, even though brand new ones came with the remote which I got on Friday, 10/12/2021. I've been at this for this entire week, making no progress at all. Please help/advise.
