Kenosha Streetcar Track Repair 2017

Kenosha Wisconsin installed it's streetcar line in 2000 and the work shown here is the first time any repairs have been done to the track. The first part of the video shows Volkmann Railroad builders crew breaking out the concrete, cutting out a section of rail and welding the new rail in place. The second repair was to realign the track just west of the 6th avenue switch. A photo taken on a hot summer day shows the extent of the deviation. Hot days one part headed north and when it cooled it pulled another part south, getting a bit worse each time. Looks so much better.
