These guys were so funny together. I mean, EVERY skit they did was so funny. I watch them over and over to this day. I still laugh. Vince had way too much control over everything. He did not let these guys just do their thing. So glad to hear that Dusty and Booker decided to go off script.
He was better in the 80s and the Additude era about letting guys do there own thing that's why you had big stars like Austin Hogan The Rock Savage Jake Roberts and many others

This is a perfect example of when they pulled the plug on an act that got over organically. They should have a longer run together.
Goldust is exactly right, a script is just a baseline for how they want a story to go. It’s the persons job to make it their own, for example in Hollywood and during movies some actors just say it word for word, but the really good and really talented actors make that script their own and put their personality and themselves into it and bring it to life.
These two were class together.
This is crazy seeing this today!...Me and my buddies from work always make references to booker t and goldusts shenanigans 😂 especially the 711 scene we're in our early 40s now, but we always doing the goldust body rub and air bite and acting out bookers reactions...the wives just be lookin at us like "wtf is wrong with them?"😂😂

Goldust is one of my favorite people in wrestling EVER. He always brought a smile to my face, heel or face. I love him till this day!

Genuinely some of my favorite stuff from that era. The 7Eleven scene, the bedroom scene with Booker's girl, the parody of Austin Powers where Goldust has a little person named "Minidust" that humps Booker T's leg, Goldust pretending to be Darth Vader and Booker T grabs the toy lightsaber and starts swinging it around and shit... so much good stuff. I had hoped that Danhausen and Hook would've been able to do the same thing together when that was a thing in AEW... not exactly of course, but Danhausen's in the role of Goldust where he's goofy and trying to get a rise out of his partner and Hook's in the role of Booker T where he's too cool for school, but entertains his partner's schtick and occasionally gives in to where Danhausen would've been the first person to get Hook to crack and show some personality. Classic comedy duo dynamic between straight man and funny man, and that's why something like that works so well when you have two guys that can play those roles and they have chemistry with each other.
Danhausen and Hook doesn't have the charisma to pull it off like Booker and Goldust
I was never a big fan of the Goldust character but I have to say that Dustin Rhodes is greatly underrated for his acting ability and charisma.
HOF 2024 pls Dustin aka Golddust deserves it he was one of the best mid carders doing the attitude/Ruthless aggression era

Booker T/Golddust carried Raw for a while for me.
I remember being a kid and not really caring much about Booker T or Goldust(at the time), but once they started the lil skits with these two together....I pretty much instantly became a HUGE fan of both of them😂.
In my brain(as someone who stopped watching wrestling around 2004) the absolute best/funniest duo's of all time were Booker T and Goldust, and also Stone Cold and Kurt Angle when they were trying to suck up to Vince and be his friend. Those two groups are comedy GOLD in my brain, even thinking about them makes me smile and laugh lol.
Let’s go ahead and get Dustin in the HOF please!!!!! He’s provided so many amazing moments in the business. True professional, hilarious, and overly dedicated to his role!
I just watched the 7Eleven scene a few weeks ago. He said “if I can take a sip of your cup Book and I’ll give you a bite of my wiener” 😅
I really miss the funny segments they had before you hardly ever see that.
You know what is so crazy about the Samoa Joe comment was the first time I saw Samoa Joe on UpUpDownDown it really took me back a step. He just had all this extra charisma and character. I thought that about the ascension too so much personality on UUDD but zero on the main roster. Wish they weren't all so afraid of getting fired. Actually scratch that I wish they didn't have to be afraid of getting fired.
My wife and I saw the bed segment at Hooters during a pay per view. Most of the time people would be talking through everything. It would get annoying because I couldn't hear some of the fun announcing. This time though when the lights went on and the two in bed together the place erupted into the biggest pop I ever heard in that place.

WWE , Start bringing in wrestlers who aren’t photo copies of each other. I don’t expect everyone to be the Stone Cold or Rock or HHH but some individuality and personalities would be good.

Maaaan, they could’ve done SO much more with the Goldust character by making him like an ultimate shady James Bond villainous type heel. In my humble opinion his run would’ve been more epic and maybe quite longer if they went that way with it. What a shame they wasted Dustin’s talent.😢😢😢

"What's missing in WWE today"....is exactly what Vince played God and took away. So get with him about it. Because it was him all a long. But too many are worshiping his brown shoes for "bootstrapping" himself to billionaire status, so it is what it is and we'll keep blaming the workers (wrestlers) because it's easier.
gold dust was cool, but to me Dustin's talent was wasted.

Dustin was never on that World Champ level. If the true Goldust had remained then possibly but that very controversial version he debuted with did not last very many months until it was watered down and turned into a comedy Act. Comedy acts have no place in wrestling. Nothing is more embarrassing as wrestling fan then tuning in to raw watching With Friends and Hornswoggle or Santino Marella perform terrible comedy routines.
Have you seen his skills he might not have been the greatest in the ring but he knew his craft, just that he decided to go with the character he was given and only dustin could made him work the way it did, also sorry but like he has said it was about entertainment and he was and is to this day a great personality, I remember the times of him and other promos that where funny lie the rikishi and other chracters but goldust was genius in his interpretations, and with so many tense situation back then you needed to remember that wrestlers and their personas had a humanizing side. Like many have said dustin was given a crappy gimmick he made it into gold.
