For the newbies to chess Magnus either had a "free" queen or a 2 move checkmate. Rook to G1 either wins the queen if u dont move it and if u do queen to G7 is just checkmate. So even tho Magnus had 10 seconds it was enough for him to win.

Black has 2 choices, either move his king to a better position by sacrificing his queen, which would make him have zero defense with pawns only, or move the queen and get checkmated in 1 move. There are no bishops left on the board.

I got into chess in 2019 and this was the first time I got introduced to Dubov, the first video I ever saw of him, the first time I ever heard/read that name😊.
It is very good to see an excellent game of chess, as it is excellent to see the moment when Dubov recognizes that he has lost and Dubov surrenders. I love Dubov's creative game and I like to see when a player recognizes sportingly that he has lost 07:08. Knowing how to win is genius, but knowing how to recognize that one has lost in sport is an excellent lesson in humanity. Carlsen's attitude after the game, talking with Dubov, is also very sporty. It is very good to see this sportsmanship in chess, as in any game.

At 4:36 - is it possible for a move 1.Ng6 (attacking the queen on e7 and the pawn on h4). If black 1...fxg6, then 2. Qb3+ (then takes rook on a4). If however, the queen just moves, then 2. Nxh4 Is it possible? Or are there other counter?
About the sac. Pretty sure Dubov thought Magnus would block the check with the rook but then Magnus used the knight instead. So Dubov basically lost the rook for nothing.
If Dubov has just kept playing practical instead of trying to find a kill, I think you would have a much better chance of winning. The rook sacrifice was so uneccesary.

4:16 wasn't the best move for black Rf4 and then pawn f4, Qg5, Kf1 and Qg2 checkmate? Or if withe blocks with the queen just take it and black is wining for material?
