@@stevelee5724 Clark and Dewey Show sounds good, although I don't think Clark wants to do the u-tube thing, after all the years of owning a body shop he seems to enjoy retirement.
Kyle the truck is so tall in the back because the axle is on the wrong side of the springs. Axle needs to be spring under to lower. I daily drive a 2007 2wd short bed standard cab Ranger with a 370 cubic inch LS. Lowered 5 in the back 3 front. Probably makes about 380 wheel and it will fry the tires all day long. I personally wouldn't even bother with 600 unless it's totally just for the fun of it. Looking forward to this build. People can hate the gray as much as they hate LS swaps. P.S I've owned a bunch of SBF stuff too!
Yep, hate both the battleship gray AND LS swaps. But of course I’m old and irrelevant. I do however love small block Fords as that is what I had in my first hot rod way back in the day.
All fords are over axle leaf spring mounts spend 100 bucks and get the flip kit, mine is a 6/8 drop 5.2 ford with a Kenny bell 4.7 liter blower hooks and hauls
As the owner a 302 swapped 97' Ranger with A/C and power everything i most definitely approve of this project!! My Ranger gets way more attention from myself these days than any of my Coyote powered rides, lol!
Look into the TKX for a trans. 4.0 Rangers had 8.8 rears. Or Explorers had 31 spline 8.8, not sure if track width was the same. Possibly a touch wider. I'm in for sbf also! That thing is 100% going to be a handful
I have a 98 Ranger that I’m in the beginning stages of a 408W / T56 swap. Maybe 100 shot later on. Originally a 2.5L / 5 speed truck. I’m definitely following your project! Wanting to build it with my kids for drag & drive.
Glad you are putting in a stickshift. Keep the manual transmission spirit alive. My first car was a 69 Z/28 302CI 4 speed. While I do appreciate the intent and need for tech improvements, this old man sure misses driving my vehicles instead of them driving me.
A good N/A SB Ford would be great. Clark is always a riot. Always great to see him. Almost 13k subs. You are getting there PIMPSTER. I have built in my day 429 SCJ, a built FE with 428 crank 427 lemans rods and more. ended up as a 454. And the Masterpiece was a 427 Cammer with the gear drive system that was used back in the day by the NHRA guys. Loved the sound of that engine and its power. Never did a small block Ford. Think it would be fun to spend the time to make one Purr
Should be a cool project! I am just finishing up my 89 Ranger GT . I have a 351 Cleveland 393 c.u. C 4 trans 91 explorer 8.8 rear fits with no modifications needed . I did S&W ladder bar setup out back, and A.J.E. tubular K frame out front . The K frame took about 250lbs off the frt end and gives tons of room!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dang, those shades you're rockin'! Really, though, sounds like it's gonna be cool. Gonna continue to see what comes outa this channel. So far, so good.
That truck brings back memories. I drove a ‘90 something 4X2 Ranger for several years as a company vehicle back in the day. The truck was fine except for one thing. Worst.riding.truck.ever. The back end was so overly stiff it would shake me half to death when going over rumble strips or lane markers. Go over train tracks at any angle and the back end would come close to getting airborne which was always exciting. I ended up putting about 300 pounds of rock filled bags in the bed just to make it halfway livable. My neck and back definitely doesn’t miss that thing
Is Clark moving to Florida? Seems like he’s moving all his stuff lol. IMHO this is one of your better videos 👍 the video editing was on point, you seemed a little more “natural” and alive. I’ll keep watching and following 🇺🇸
Sounds like you already have most of the parts for the Ranger. Will be interesting to see what transmission you select. Does Clark have a channel? I know he is "retired" but he is a fascinating person.
Cutting out the floor and wheel wells to rivet in and seamseal carbon?!? The drive to sub 3klbs! 😂 Great project and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress!
Thumbs UP! Please use SC-1 heads and intake for this build - the ultimate canted valve setup! Can you review/critique some of the geared engine stands you use? Between the Sunex and the Jackco, which do you like better? The RCR stands you have are nice, but are very pricey. Thanks and God bless!
I think I'd be cool to keep it like an old school build with a lower aggressive stance , 15" bullet hole wheels, about a 30" bfg ta tucked up in the back
I'd put a good 6 speed in it so it would handle the HP and if ya wanted to go on a road trip you'd have that overdrive option cheaper gas mileage and less ware and tear on the engine lol can't wait to see how it turns out
Can't wait to see this nasty lil thing out! I know you've got a motor ready to put together, but it'd be really cool to find an old cup motor, or something! I grew up in IL, just south of Chicago, and there was a shop back in the late 90's that had the 2 fastest Lightnings in the country, apparently. One box, one newer style, birth w/434" Dale Jarrett Nascar motors. One was Procharged, I believe, and the other turbo. Back when 1,000whp was a big deal!lol I'm still looking forward to my 99 Camaro making close to a thousand, if not right over! Main thing is that it's streetable with air! This engine combo, with a nitrous cam/setup, has been proven to work very well as a street mannered, daily driven, low 10 second streetcar on motor, and 8.5x on a 200 shot. I'm excited to see what it does with some boost and a few better parts! I need some fab help though at the moment...or someone that'll hire me on a slower time pace, as my hands are messed up...but they won't approve disability! I just keep on going, although it's very discerning at times! Hard when you need help and nobody's there...
Just subscribed to your channel . I have a 98 ranger. I let a friend work on it and it hasn't run since . I'm hoping to find a good mechanic to fix it. I like that your keeping it Ford powered . can't wait to see your ranger back on the streets.
Looking forward to the Ranger content! Also, not so sure about the 4/6 drop kit being installed. I have a 3/3 Belltech on my 99' and for it to be a 6" drop in the rear, I'm pretty sure the leaf springs have to be below the axle. As for the front, it hard to tell without a motor in it but its sitting awfully tall to have 4" drop installed already. I'm interested to see it get low and what all it takes to get it in the weeds.
I know a guy who has a ranger gt. His dad dropped a 347 crate engine it. Would love to buy it from him it's just sitting in a shop with stuff around it for the last 20 years. He's got a nice 86 t top fox body. All original 50k miles. 5 speed car. He's got some gems man Saleen fox all kinds of gems. it's a field day for ford guys like us man like a blast back to the old days..
Go old school 69 mustang shaker hoodscoop. Going" on kill "visuals for a street build looks a little too much. But I am a sleeper build guy so. 2 cents either way. Love the content, hook it up!
Clark, a legend of our time, like a boss sitting in a recliner watching Bonneville in his shop...life goals!

@@BassManBobBassCovers no doubt about that.
If your budget allows, a 6 speed. 5th as 1:1 and 6th as a 15% overdrive. Gives you plenty of opportunity to row gears......
Thanks for giving us Ford guys some nice content...looking forward to the build
Always love seeing a bonus Clark appearance, such a great guy!!
He loves being on camera; can't get enough of it!
Don’t let Cleeter get it to the freedom factory. That truck is sweet.

Ford top loader 4 speed. Great 4 speed transmission. Going to be a neat build.

I can’t wait for this one!!
I’m also a SBF guy!!!
Super to see this build!!
Always nice to see Clark hanging with y'all.
Refreshing to hear some Ford love, and 3P on top! Love it!
SUPER T10 ! They are bulletproof.
I will second that. You really dont need six gears. or even five with that sort of power.
Awesome project Kyle cannot wait to see that SBF build,👍👍

Color looks great on the ranger
Former USN. Haze grey makes me sick. I do like the paint on your Mustang. Keep the vids coming.
I'm glad that you've started this. You and your dad are awesome. It's great to see Father and Son collaboration. You don't find much of that nowadays.
We did the Crown Vic Nardo grey! Great color! Gonna be a sick truck!

My first thought was Danger Ranger truck...but not with that shine!
Look you guys putting Clark to work!!!!
You're doing great Kyle, I like what you are doing here, smart move starting the channel, Love seeing Clark in the video, peace
Leaf springs go under the axle if you want it lower
The new Tremec TKX is probably the easiest and most cost effective. It’s a small package and withstands quite a lot.

I love the paint. Not a big fan of the wheels. The Western slotted mags in a deep dish would look awesome with that Grey paint.
Those Mustang wheels look kinda goofy on a truck.
The truck is peach..! My son wants to put a 302 in his 91 ranger..
Clark's shop is huge!
Sweet Ranger, love the gray color myself
Should a fun build. Looking forward to it. 👍🏻
Definitely has potential to be a cool ass little street truck.. love the plan. Can’t wait to see the next steps.

Might be time to blue print a ford 427 side oiler for the mustang and swap the stang motor in NA form into the ranger!
cool build kyle, will be watching. good luck!
That grey really looks nice on it !
Id love to get another ranger. Id swap it with a churched up eco boost or better a Barra.
Cool build looking forward to it.
Nardo grey……in western Sydney we call it Mt Druitt metallic. Those that know, know.
Nardo gray has become one of my favorite colors as of late
Sweet truck. Would be awesome with a coyote swap.
Maybe paint the hood and upper cab black or cabon wrap. Or something to make it stand out. Lol
Sweet! Love me some Ranger content! Looks like same color as mine
A Lenco box would be sweet
Cleetus has that Lenco tranny out of his mustang, he put a turbo 400 in the Oreo car. That would be the quickest shifting for you.
TKX is a good option also.
That’s not just a project truck that’s a FORD F$&@ING RANGER!!!
Tremec tkx 5 speed, great trans.
Ranger with a V8 Nice.
Kyle, please do old school tunnel ram & twin 4 barrels,. Old skool tuff
You should make it all wheel drive now that would be cool and fast
Dont strap cars by chassis as car bounces up n down on trailer breaking straps. Strap down via tyre's or leaf springs

More like 4-5" lower. Add axle tube diameter plus spring thickness together and that's the drop doing that.

4 speed Muncie will hold up forever
Having seen to rear end, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when the front wheels turned different directions
Hey might as well over build it the first time. So when you want to put some wind in her it will be ready to rock
Awesome video great content👍
Clettus has a Bruno lying around
I'm pretty sure I have a 4 speed top loader if you want it, I'm in GR. I'm pulling it out of my 61 F100
