It still pisses me off that we never got Alan Cumming back as Nightcrawler, he was so freaking perfect!
I agree!
Der unglaubliche Nightcrawler 🎉
Agreed! 🙏🏽💪
That’s because of Brett Ratner
He is my favorite casting besides Hugh.. but he hated his experience with makeup.. and hes aged alot more for a character so agile like nightcrawler. You seen the show traitors.. i cant see that Cumming coming back lol
I appreciate Achara recognizing that the healing factor is a prerequisite for the adamantium grafting.
Rebecca Romjin is still the best Mystique. Perfect casting. The confidence in her body language, how she could carry herself wearing little more than body paint, was always on point.
She's a trooper. It's a lot of work for the scenes where she's blue, but I think they could have gone with her classic white costume to save Rebecca sooo much time in the chair. It always felt kinda pervy to have her be entirely naked all the time when she wears clothes in the comics 😅
The only problem with Jennifer Lawrence is she's not playing Mystique most of the time. She's playing Raven.
She’s the only Mystique
@@ninjabluefyre3815and the other problem is she’s not supposed to be the main character
She’s the MVP of the movies in terms of being constantly in the field talking on different missions. A real special ops mutant.
She got no rest from the first movie - no downtime. She was in deep cover in government and military from the first movie till the last.
I felt so bad for Lady Deathstrike. She was under mind control and when she “wakes up,” she’s dying
Right she didnt deserve this..
I doubt she's actually dead, technically. I mean, she is, but if enough of the excess adamantium in her body was removed, I bet she'd come back to life.
@@Tantalus010 Maybe, but if Logan is canon to this continuity, then the adamantium is poison to them, and will eventually overpower her healing factor. If she's endlessly drowning while filled to the brim with that stuff, she probably won't last very long anyways as the combination of both things will tax out her healing and kill her.
Plus she might've been the Yuriko Oyama who actually knew Logan.
pretty sure I saw her in the deadpool and wolverine trailer so she might get some redemption lol
The chemistry between Storm and Nightcrawler really gets me. Real bummer he couldn’t make it for the sequels.
what happened?
@@theawesomeman9821 Originally Nightcrawler was gonna appear in X-Men: The Last Stand, but the make up effects didn’t make the budget. Filmmakers ended up removing the character.
@@theawesomeman9821Mystique is his mother
@@supremedream1764it's crazy that its a budgetary issue since x2 was a box office hit.
Also, I don't think Alan got along with Bryan Singer. I think Bryan was still attached when Alan turned it down.
Fun fact: the same actor Aaron Stanford is returning to reprise his role as Pyro in Deadpool 3.
Just check - Love it :) The same as Azazel :)
Pretty sure he's been cast as James Cole instead.
Lady deathstrike Kelly Hu
Sabertooth from x1
And 🐸 as well
@prathapkutty7407 so Wade's going to be visiting the fox x-men trilogy movies. NICE
Fun fact: Nightcrawler and Rogue are siblings. Mystique is their mother
LOL How is that even possible?
Rogue is adopted
21:51 I'm not going to lie this is that cool I was going to say so the fact that Christian was trying to ship nightcrawler and mystique was already making me uncomfortable because nightcrawl is mystique's son
@@Jay_theartist19Made me uncomfortable as well.
Yeah, but if you don't know that, it's an innocent mistake. Some people just see that they're both blue and don't really put 2 and 2 together. Plus, they look like they're the same age in these movies, so it isn't very intuitive
lol I giggled too hard at “What are you a professor of?” … “Your mom” lol
That moment that you both started dancing to Cyclops's music had me weak. It's messed up because they do Cyclops dirty in these movies. I remember in the theater, the entire crowd erupted with laughter at the moment.
The scene with Mystic and Night crawler is a deep cut for the fans. In the comics, she is his mother. It's a real shame that wasn't explored in later movies.
Just thank god for the animated series & X-Men 97 😂
For Kristen:
Hugh Jackman told a story in an interview about doing a stage play where he played a bi character. When the story got to the place where he was supposed to kiss another man, as he leaned in a teenage guy's voice yelled from the audience "DON'T DO IT WOLVERINE ! ! !" 🤣🤣🤣
You'll love X-Men first class, Magneto and Charles' friendship is the main plot
Kristen's brain exploding after the Jean/Mystique reveal 🤯
🤣🤣🤣
Good to know she's very anti-cheating 👍
31:30 Yeah, this is Yuriko Oyama, aka Lady Deathstrike! One of Wolverine's villians! In the comics, she's definitely not a mutant. She's a cyborg. She was also Wolverine'a ex fiance which is also sad because Wolverine really loved her. 😔🙏🏽
Fun Fact: One idea during the Dark Cerebro scene was to cut to one mutant dropping cards to hint at Gambit.
During the Computer terminal with Mystique, Reme LaBou's name pops up
@@tonyyul703 Yep and Henry McCoy was on the news
Why isn't he at the school? Why is Rogue dating Bobby?
I don’t think I’ve ever heard Kristin swear, so that ending was phenomenal😂😂 also, we know achara has seen these movies, but this is one of those times that that’s ok, I love this pair off, and I hope cinepals keeps this throughout the franchise, we’re only two movies in but it’s been so fun watching them with these two!
Rebecca Romjin is genetically gifted... the lady has aged amazingly, looks great in Star Trek.
She really is incredible :)
I wish they would've used her more. Famke, too.
her plastic surgeon said the same thing
also she was good in the Librarians
beautiful woman, and she only looks good in Star Trek because she's had plastic surgery done, and isn't one of the ladies that totally messed herself up doing such bodywork. She really doesn't look the same, but she isn't a plastic surgery monster like many other actresses turn themselves into.
The opening scene with Nightcrawler will always be my favorite part of this movie
Ladies , it's not cyclops that bad in this movie. It's just that writer didn't wanted to concentrate on him . They wanted Wolverine to lead .
That's what they said... he's written badly.
@@sproductionsincno thats not what they said
That is what they said @@prodigalfraudaddy
Lol well I’ll say it for them, he’s bad 😂 he’s a chump in these films. From his introduction to his death…total simp and wussy. And before anyone replies with the obvious, I know it’s because the writers wanted to place the focus more on Hugh/Logan.
@@EverydayWithBobby they could have made him a bad ass and still sideline him ,but they choose to make him all of the above you've mentioned. They could have written him like they wrote rody in iron man , dinjarin in madalorian , han solo or Luke Skywalker. Or like any other strong side character but they made him yukky
This might be a hot take but X2 is one of best super hero movie ever made.
It's not a hot take . It's just been so long that people forgot this movie was so good
Yeah a lot of people love it but i prefer the first one as i love when Charles and Eric are fighting..their dynamic works so good and it wasnt really part of this one..dont get me wrong i love X-2 but X-Men 1 when i was a kid was everything after loving the animated series and then seeing the film..no Gambit though..wish he was part of the main films..
@@garydodd2837the problem is that 1 has aged visually, X2 still very watchable
What wonderfully reserved reactions from Achara.
Kristen's reactions on the other hand... :)
That's why they are fun to watch together 😂
She’s unhinged
Wolverine: "Who's this?"
Nightcrawler: [Gives name]
Wolverine: "Eh, save it."
Nightcrawler: uhhhh...you asked?
Asked for his name, not his life story.
@@cytorakdemonexactly
The irony being that in the original run of X-Men comics--despite being very different people--they became really good friends. One wonder if this franchise could have eventually showed that, but it wasn't to be.
Nightcrawler grabbing Rogue straight out of freefall was soooooo sick first time I saw it, wooooooo!!! 😳🔥👊🏻 more I watch these again, I appreciate how damn good they were!!! CLASSIC!!
Achara now knows what it feels like to us when we watch reaction videos. I knew she knew what was coming while Kristen was getting worked up during the tent scene.
Initially I didn’t like watching videos where one person has seen the movie while the other hasn’t. Then it clicked that they were in our position.
Absolutely the best reaction to the scene with Mystique screwing with Logan. 🤣
Kristen's personality went full cookie monster mode in this
"Is that a Red flag? I'm going to run at it like a bull" lol!🤣
Female nature lol
In the comics, Mystique is actually Nightcrawler's mother, but they changed it for the movies, so that's why they had that nice moment between them where she gives him nice advice and confidence.
And the lady with the long adamantium fingernails is Lady Deathstrike from the comics. In the comics, she had more of a Samurai outfit and she had soem cybernetic implants, but they changed this again for the movies.
She's a very cool villain in the comics.
This is the best X-Men movie and one of the best comic books movies of all time. The opening scene alone is one of the best comic book movie opening scenes
Every time I think Kristen is going to pick up on a point or hint, she pulls the rug right out from under me.
Seriously. Every single reaction, it's always the same.
Why do you keep watching then
She’s a trip
In the comics, Mystique is Nightcrawler's mom. That's where the 'blue' comes from.
22:33 lol 😂🤣
Wolverine vs Lady Deathstrike was awesome 😊
I had such a crush on Rebecca Romain. She's a model turned actress and such a beautiful woman. She's my favorite version of Mystique yet.
15:21 achara got jokes lol 😂🤣
The remark by Achara was so true, not at all Jabby. Ayo!
😁
@@Irohdad ikr lol 😂🤣
Poor jaby
It says something about our society that the "good" characters are considered "weak", but it also speaks for how good the comics are written that the "villains" are so compelling.
Overly Sarcastic Productions has a really good taking down of the super dark antihero who doesn't have any qualms about murder and can get the job done without morals. It's kinda the reason I didn't like Black Adam that much.
@@ninjabluefyre3815 same. But tbh Black Adam had much simpler problems than his ability to kill with no remorse 😂
Cyclops got done dirty in the movies
Extremely lol I use to hate how they made wolverine the center in all the movies but I love Hugh jackman now but I hope the MCU redeems cyclops like they’re doin in xmen 97
From badass team leader to 'Wolverine likes my girl ☹'
Only the animated series do him justice.
Extremely! So glad the animation exists.
I was born in 1999 so i got familiar with X-men from 3 different source at the same time, because they still repeated the old x-men animated on Fox Kids, then we got the movies, and X-men Evolution on Cartoon Network. First I hated Cyclops, but Evolution really made me like him, that show did justice I feel.
Not just cyclops, rogue got done the dirtiest, the worst, rogue is more powerful than most of the main xmen like bryan gave us like 3 good movies but still failed to understand the xmen characters and not give us the original yellow comic costumes.
In the comics Mystic and wolverine shared a past together as both of them are immortal and they were also once lovers. Lady Deathstrike was also a former lover of Logan his fiance in fact. The movies missed a huge opportunity in not alluding to that and going into their past.
Mystique was just trying to see if ALL of Wolverines "Bones" are indestructible 😉 lol
Damn 😂😂😂
hard as adamantium.
@@eolsunder 😂😂😂
These two are so funny and great together and they really need to do loads more together!! Just brilliant!!😆😅🤣😂😋🤪😝😘🤩😍🥰❤👏🙌🙏👍🎉
I don't think I've ever seen Achara laugh so much due to a coworker. :D
I absolutely love watching the reaction videos that feature Kristen. I love how animated she gets when she gets excited about something. Best kind of person to watch a movie with,IMO
17:24
every time he
SHOVES IT IN Y'KNOW
Second tease of Jubilee sitting next to the Professor at the end! 🎇🎆
Wolverine's hair style and mutton chops aren't a cosmetic choice he makes when he gets out of bed and out of the shower every morning. It's a side effect of his mutation. He's almost animal-like, with heightened senses and hunting ability, similar to a wolf.
Yeahhh but it still looks really bad in all of Hugh’s depictions except The Wolverine and DoFP 😂 he looks like Ace Ventura lmao
Alrighty then 😂
Kristen it is based off of racism. This was created during the 60's during the civil rights movement. In Stan lee interviews he talks how he patterned Professor X, & Magneto off of Martin Luther king, & Malcolm X, & wanted to make a statement about what was going on in the culture at the time. Marvel Comics always relected what was going on at the time.I grew up in the 70's, & collected these comics from then to now.
The tragedy is that Lady Deathstrike actually comes to her senses just before she dies. You can see her eyes become normal. If the fight had only lasted 5 more seconds she would have joined Wolverine.
Think the intense pain of the adamantium injection is what snapped her out of it. Cyclops needed a pretty hard hit to come back round.
Equally rough is you can see the moment Wolverine realizes she's regained herself.
I'm not sure she would have, throughout the characters run for the most part she absolutely loaths Logan and wants to end him the mind control is added for the movie but even without it she wants him on the end of her claws.
@@IAmHavok These films did change a lot, so that might have changed as well.
I mean, Colossus isn't Russian here.
I believe it was the pain that brought her out of it. Nightcrawler immediately snapped out of it when he got shot in the arm, Cyclops snapped out of it when Jean used his powers against him and then Deathstrike when Wolverine stabbed her with the injector
22:13 I had to go back and see Achara's pre-reaction to Kristen. lol
Kristen's reaction to Jean cheating is worth a rewatch. Protect Kristen at all costs.
I think the reason why everyone sleeps on Cyclops in Singers movies is because He's so underplayed and undervalued, for a character so integral to the main X-men it's a travesty. Wolverine isn't the only bloody X-man, but for the future of the series, even to date with Deadpool 3, it's as if He's the only one that exists lol (Purely because of Jackman).
If anyone has the right to call themselves THE X MAN it's Cyclops as he was practically the first.
The thing most people, including myself don't get in the first time seing this movie is why Jean sacrifice herself. Why se didn't do all that inside the Jet? Thats because she's afraid. In the begining of the movie, during Scott and Jean's converstion at the museum, it was said that her powers had grown and tha she was diferent after the battle in the last movie, with Jean saying that she's afraid that something terrible gonna happend. There's a deleted scene in the extende cut that we see her drifiting away during the flight and starts controling the Jet changing it's course without even realising she's doing it. She has the glowing eyes and a look of joy on her face by realising the growth of her powers, scaring the others and herself. When Jean snaps out of it, she looks away in shame. That's why she do it. Because she knew her powers where growing beyond her control and she was afraid of what she could become and that it would hurt her friends.
Fun fact: In the comics, Mystique is the biological "father" to Nightcrawler. Or so I heard. Comics can be fricking CRAZY!!!
They have changed Kurt's parentage a few times. Mystique is his 'father/donor' and Destiny gestates him in the current lore. Good on him having two moms 😅
@@LordVolkov Mystique and Destiny being Nightcrawler's biological parents was the original plan from Chris Claremont (Creator of the three of them), but couldn't see it through at the time of writing because of the Comic Code Authority
Does anyone wanna talk about how Boyscout Scott Summers listens to Justin Timberlake whenever him and Jean Grey get into an argument 😂
0:40 Mozart rocks! 👍👍👍
21:48 "Well, cause they're both blue..." 😂😂😂
The Wolverine character was created, in the comic books, to be the villain Weapon X. But we readers loved him so much MARVEL changed him into a bad boy "good guy".
21:45 That would be weird since Mystique is Nightcrawler's mom. Well, technically she's his father 😅
Cool names for Kristen in addition to Bobby Drake/Iceman:
Mystique = Raven Darkholm
Nightcrawler = Kurt Wagner
Yuriko Oyama = Lady Deathstrike ("Oyama" means "great mountain" or "great castle"
Kitty Pryde = Shadowcat
Theresa Rourke = Siryn
Victor Creed = Sabertooth (from the first "X-Men")
Y'all. It's truly okay to pause the movie to fully react to a moment. Please. Because when you don't, you miss other moments that we'd love to see you react to. Perfect example in the Mystique/Wolverine interaction followed by the Magneto/Rogue interaction. The former stepped on the latter, which was a pretty chewy character scene on the heels of the first movie and you weren't even watching.
Just a suggestion, I'm not trying to be a butt about it.
Jean Grey is a member of a subspecies of humans known as mutants who are born with superhuman abilities. She was born with psionic powers. The character has also been known as Marvel Girl, Phoenix, and Dark Phoenix at various points in her history. Various incarnations of Jean Grey.
I wonder if Alan Cumming knows the extent of the influence portrayal of Nightcrawler had on American culture? Likewise I will say without spoiling anything Kelsey Grammer as Beast if nothing else went right there was the best portrayal of that character. I recall Kelsey in an interview stating he had never heard of X-Men but absolutely enamored with the idea of that character and world.
I also listened to an interview with Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn. They were asked many questions about the costumes and prosthetics they wore. When asked if he wore anything under the costume Alan responded "Nothing but my cockring!" So aside this stellar performance that is probably what I will always remember him for.
In the Golden Age of Marvel on film, this was one of the best sequels.
The first time we had multiple releases for Marvel-based films in the same year.
X2:X-Men United (the original title) was after Daredevil and before Hulk.
Such an incredible progression of story.
Most us who knew the comics had an idea of what was coming.
Meanwhile, newfound fans who loved the first film could only imagine what was coming.
The actions of the gifted, good or bad are magnificently made and nerdgasms for everyone wanting more.
But of course, the underline story of discrimination and tolerance in an fantastical world still comes through.
The ending did indeed break hearts.
But like i said, we as the fans knew what we saw right before credits rolled.
X3:The Last Stand (2006) is considered controversial.
You'll have to see why for yourselves.
Spider-Man and Blade II both came out in 2002, but I do remember 2003 being the first time we could start to visualize what a potential Infinity War movie could look like.
X2 is definitley the best of the original Xmen trilogy in my opinion so much darker perfectly cast and the scene with Magneto escaping and Logan in the room where they performed the Weapon X procedure on him and his ensuing battle with Lady Deathstryke (Chefs kiss) you guys had me laughing so much in th8s video awesome reaction Ladies 😊
If the movies did Rogue right then she could have done major damage against the bad guys. Instead they make her kinda there but barely doing anything. The biggest thing I can think of is when she moves the X Jet
Bobby: Just kiss me, it won't hurt
Bobby 10 seconds later: 😵💫😵💫😵💫
For me, this is still the best superhero movie, period! I absolutely love every single scene!
What's more disturbing is Lady Deathstrike; the Asian lady who fought logan isn't dead. Like Logan, has a healing factor and just injected molten metal...In essence she is alive, permanently paralyzed and will probably never die.
She'll be like what the hell seeing the Dark Phoenix repeats.
Was literally on this channel couple hours ago wondering when this was coming. Achara you’re great. Kristen. You have my heart ❤️ ❤
Rebecca Romain was an icon back in the day. So many of us were beyond excited to see her play mystique she didn’t disappoint.
Fun fact,The actress who played Lady Drathstrike, Kelly Hu, voiced Devorah in the mortal kombat games and also voiced Li Mei in MK1. She is also the face model of both Li Mei and Sindel in MK1.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Kristen was SO MAD...only to be swerved by Mystique. 😂😂😂 That was Hilarious!
People kept forgetting that X men franchise is good and a hit back then
this was my fave of the original trilogy, i just loved the addition of all the new characters.
It wasn't Jean's power that broke the damn, that was Scott. The amount of force behind his beams is immensely destructive. Jean just happened to make it blast outward all over.
well it could be either. Yes she blocked then disrupted his beam, but the damage could be from either his blasts being reflected, or her power physically breaking his blast.
The opening scene with Nightcrawler is so fucking cool
1 of the best
Just like Terminator 2, X2 is the sequel that built upon and surpassed the original!
You see in these X-MEN movies people always complain about Hugh Jackman being too tall but to me he is freakin Wolverine bub
He IS Wolverine, period. That being said, I still think the movies focused way too much on him. I get him being kind of a cypher for the audience in that first movie, but I did dislike how much the other X-Men essentially played second-fiddle to him.
@@thedefinitionisthis It's definitely because of Hugh & not the character himself.
It's being too tall for Wolverine that makes the love triangle work 😅
If he was 5'3" looking up at Famke Janssen and speaking with a Canadian accent it'd never play 🤣🤣🤣
that would be really creepy because mystique.. is nightcrawlers biological mother...😂😂😂
3:00 Me too, Achara! ❤
12:02 Mystique gave him iron pills to basically put a lot of iron in the guard's blood so Magneto could take him oyt.
22:19 Achara's face holing it in...
22:34 Both Achara's and Kristen's reactions were BRILLIANT!!😂😂😂
44:41 I can't wait until to see Kristen's reaction to the casting for the prequels. Not privy to her TV/movie viewing beyond this channel, but we all know which characters I am referencing. 😊
I briefly knew artist Dave Cockrum. I talked with him shortly after this movie came out. He created night crawler. He hated the whole tattoos/ religious bit used in this movie.
I've seen this or a reaction to it about 8 times now. I think around #4 I started to realize I love it so much because it's the Mystique & Magneto show haha. Glad you two appreciate them so much!
1:08 Fun Fact: Did you guys know that when Wolverine was introduced as a villain/anti-hero? He was one of Hulk's biggest enemies back than. Later on, he joined the X-Men as you already know and than join the Avengers! However, X-Men is his main team! 🙏🏽💪
The blonde is funny, and I like her Jean and Wolverine takes. She should watch X-Men 97 and get an actual comic accurate look at the X-Men
1:04 My second favorite superhero of all time!!!! My man Wolverine!!!! 🙏🏽💪
hes, nightcrawler, admiring her and also shes inadvertently teaching him a mothers lesson. she may be crazy but she is also his mom/bio-parent in comics hence the blue. His other parent is a mutant named destiny and his adoptive sister is rogue.
This is where the fun begins!!!! 🙏🏽💪
Kristen, unfortunately while you were energetically reacting to the Mystique/Logan romp, you missed the part when he finds the 3 scars he gave her while fighting on Liberty Island the previous movie.
Another comic book film featuring Rebecca Romijn is the 2004 version of The Punisher. The actress playing Lady Deathstrike, Kelly Hu, is also in The Scorpion King
I remember seeing this in theaters. And though I'm not familiar with the comics, the 90s cartoon did a similar episode. So I knew what was happening with jean. Was pretty exciting to see.
08:54 OMG the synchronized dancing 🤣😂🤣
Seeing women THIS excited for X-men movies and characters, especially Mystique, makes me SO happy. It gives me so much hope for the MCU'a X-men having kickass female characters. I am also LIVING for these throwback reaction videos! ❤❤❤
I just realized Magneto didn't tell Striker about the tunnels under the mansion. Even when he was forced to tell him everything he didn't give up the escape route for the kids. Unless he didn't know about the tunnels, but i'm pretty sure he knew
Mystique is actually Nightcrawler’s aka Kurt’s mother, the father was actually a red looking demon who could also teleport.

She's his "father" actually. Having transformed into a man to conceive him with her long time lover, Destiny.
@@Tpm12luv Like those who ignore the 5th India Jones movie, and/or 4th one, and the Star Wars sequels I’m ignoring that. A pointless retcon overall. These movies came out way before that anyway.
@@ghostspider2056 It's a retcon of a retcon. Mystique being the father and Destiny being the mother of Nightcrawler was Chris Claremont's original plan (Creator of the three of them), but the Comic Code Authority prevented him from seeing it through during his time of writing for them
@@Tpm12luv Doesn’t make it a good retcon. It also doesn’t matter if it was the original idea when it’s been years after the fact, contradicting various plot points. 21:46 in the comics, Mystique is actually Nightcrawler’s mom/dad. His birth mother is Mystique’s wife Irene aka Destiny.
When Mystique changes she can change down to the cellular level to create functional reproductive organs of either sex.

Nightcrawler has always been my favorite X-Men, too. As well all of the things you mentioned... he is a swashbuckler at heart which has always been my favorite character archetype.
Man when we see Ian back as magneto I hope we can see him with the long hair M on his chest look in Secret wars
In the comics, Nightcrawler is actually the son of Mystique and another mutant who will remain unnamed as you haven't met them yet 😈🤘
Yes Mystique can change into different animals. One of her favorite transformations is a Raven.
I think Kristen gonna love X2 and DANG KRISTEN HAIR IS ALWAYS ON POINT 💯🔥🔥
This is easily a top 10 superhero movie of all time!
