I'm hopeful for more shell designs! some of the p1/p2 designs are so gorgeous, hopefully we will see something like those in the future

I’ll be buying the clear ufo shell because the blue ufo was my first keitai that i sold recently. So I’ll be happy to reaquire it in a revamped version. I agree about all the shells.

I was SO hyped for this announcement! I've never had a Connection before so I was very curious about the differeces between the new release, V3 and Keitai and I'm happy you compared them! I love that they took stuff from both the japanese and american releases, make it feels like the ultimate V3 (even though there's still stuff missing lol). Here's hoping Bandai releases more shell designs soon and maybe even the V4 or V5 in the future (raising a ShimaShimatchi would be amazing!)

I like the retro shell as they are colours of late 80s to the 90s every electronic toys almost has that colour if I remember esp those music stuffs

Didn't know about the Japanese release being different. Canceled my order and I'm gonna get the Japanese version since they are way better aesthetically. I wasn't really happy with any of the American release designs anyways.

I'm a little bummed about no tamatown but I'm really excited about this release! I'm curious about the password thing too. It's going to be so nostalgic to unbox and pull the tab on these, I don't know how I'm going to wait the 2-3 months!

I am disappointed about the shells. Got the 2 pack, but the fact that they are coming back in general is enough for me.
i still cannot believe they finally released it I‘m more on the digimon side but i‘ve been on the edge of buying a Gen 1 for so long knowing that the real thing I wanted is a Connection

I really enjoyed your honesty! And totally agree.. not in love with the US designsm. There's something about the icecream shell screen that has numbers that bothers me. It doesn't really match with the icecream theme imo.

I had exactly the same feeling when I saw the American shells compared to the Japanese ones and I didn't like any of the US ones. But when I started noticing how cute the bubble one was I started to like it more, AND that was the one I preordered. I do think tho that we could have had a larger collection or perhaps other shells selections. But I’m very happy overall that we did have a release for this Tamas. Tho we have to wait ALOT 😓😓😓😓😓

Super psyched for the connection rerelease as i grew up with everyone having one as a kid, and not being allowed to own one because of my mom.

This need of cultural/moral adaptation seen throughout Tamagotchi and other Japanese products is stupefying.
you mean like the Americanization of the designs in this case? I've only really noticed that happening in tamagotchi releases and anime dubs haha

You should get the tamagotchi uni the colour palette is weird but it looks a lot of fun and they have tamagotchi town on wifi.

Are the Japan and US devices exactly the same software wise? The Japan doesnt have any of the keitai images like the death gravestone?
as far as I know, they will be identical! it's possible there might be minor differences between the language choices, but I think that is unlikely

On the box image on the Amazon US listing is says you can choose between English and Japanese. you should be able to do the same with the Japanese version

Every video i see says the shells are cute but i was shocked by how ugly they were lol. it took me an entire day to decide on one (i already have the old popsicle one and i do like th ebubble one kind offfff. i also wanted tamagotchis on the shell so i got the graffitti ones stricly bc theres characters on the shells).
the japanese ones are wayyyyyy cuter. do they not know we all love japanese type aesthetics?? im tired of standardized stuff jsut bc we're in america. why can't glitter cases and melon soda cases be standard for us 😭
it seems like both the American and Japanese teams were surprised that we wanted the Japanese shells and vice versa 😂 hopefully we will get them released over here as well!

the shells did kinda lack lustre for me imo but I’m just grabbing a few to play with until we get more! The rainbow one I hated at first but seeing the little cloud character is so cute and the colours, it’s giving pride, and I love that

I just found my tamatown disk in
my storage. I have had it since i got my first device the v3 when i was around 14. I hope to find the device but no luck. I wonder if you still have the disk if you can use it with the new device haha
Tamapalace did an interview with bandai about the connections and they said that tamatown will not be returning :'(
I dont mind importing but one thing is the box could have been more nostalgic and cute but hey that means less space its gonna take up cause im gonna toss it 😂

Then saw the Japanese ones then I got really disappointed. They’re so much cuter. If you were to import them from Japan would they have an English language option?
Yes you should be able to choose which language. on the North America Amazon listing you can see what the packaging looks like and it says you can choose between English and Japanese. I cant imagine the Japanese version would remove that functionality
it hasn't been confirmed for sure, but I think that the Japanese shells should play in English as well!

i’d recommend bubbles OR if ur willing to spend some extra money, go for a japanese shell! they’re very simplistic

The password input with a bunch of numbers looks like the keitai one, which was used with the phone app (iirc? and wherever else those item codes came from), and thanks to others online I eventually found the codes that come from your parent tamagotchi and award you money (maybe those are from visiting the parents on the phone? I. don't. know). A real savior on the keitai which is slow to make money on (but a really wonderful unit that I love so much 🥰). Makes me ponder deka tamas... I don't have any, but I'm getting more interested in them.
the tamasuku actually works for sending money to the keitai! it's great haha

yes! if your tamagotchi reaches a certain age without having babies, the matchmaker will appear and bring a potential partner for them to have a baby
