    Fishing less-popular areas of these huge, deep reservoirs can be VERY unpredictable and exciting and in this video, I chose to fish an area of Damflask reservoir which almost never gets fished!

    Great video Jamie. These vids were you Fish not knowing the venue and learn as you go , are great for us to see . How you work things out and why you make the choices you do . Great approach to teaching your viewers . It's getting boring and not very informative watching other channels , set up , go over same old basics and catch fish . Thanks for the new style of vids .

    just unlucky Jamie , choosing a different peg than the usual choice of anglers, but as you said makes it more exciting not knowing what could be, rather than going with the norm

    Brill vid mate 👍🏻 first started fishing Flask wi my Dad & my Granmid 70s ,he use to catch trout and she cooked em on bank ,use to be wooden portable toilets on boathouse side smelled lovely ! When I was 14 use to get us from Rotherham and fish on dam wall ,put a pouch of pinkies out ,cast beyond it ,pull waggled thru and catch trout ,
    1989 ,me and my brother were walking round ,and saw a couple of Wakefield lads pull a 32lb pike out on plantation swim ! What a venue, but unforgiving ,like yr film ,like a mill pond one minute ,north see next .beautiful up there 👍🏻

    Another good video Jamie, used to fish underbank up to a few years back , always fished well when the water was down . But sometimes Yorkshire water would pump thousands of cold water in ... middle of summer and the water was freezing you probably know how the the fishing went 👎

    Can't help bet wonder why Matrix don't have a range of lead and feeders with fins to help with a steeper ascent from the bottom. Needed in places like Damflask.
    Done griping. Good to see you wetting a line mate. Still love the camera angle from the rod tip looking in. Did Mr. Bailiff throw a hex with his question, I wonder? LOL
    Keep well Jamie. TTFN.

    Hi Jamie it is nice to know that the top anglers have days like that, i thought that only happened to me!! Now i fish deep clay pits which go to 35 ft but no drop off's like that, abandoned excavators etc but no cliff faces. I had a light bulb moment when i used a castable echo sounder and found very few near the bottom but loads swimming about 10 ft deep. Setting up a slider and a fixed waggler and feeding soft balls mixed with leam and loose feeding over the top, i caught some stamp roach and rudd and a tench! Then carp moved in and killed the swim after foul hooking one which charged about for 5 mins. Quite how to make the fish feed on the bottom i am not sure, possibly a slow sinking feeder with a floating bait on a long hooklength? An interesting problem! I hope you and your family are keeping safe and well, kindest regards Bill ps how did you sync the dialog with that gopro?

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel  Před 3 lety

      That sounds like lovely fishing Bill mate! I've been on several reservoirs like that will the Deeper and the fish have been off-bottom every time too mate. I'm sure the fish were there but on any other occasion I would have had other rods/tackle with me to tackle the peg better mate. Hope you're well mate, I just clap my hands when both cameras are filming that way it gives you a good point of reference for the syncing mate :)

    21.40 is a taste of what you got to come and then × it by 10 and then add some flow to it hence why were going to cheat a little on one our coaching days 😉

    • @CatchFishingChannel

      @@CatchFishingChannel hopefully not every day i hate losing leads/feeders lol. No just the one session like that. The one I called extreme feeder fishing were its around 30ft deep and snagy as hell hence why were going to cheat and I am bringing my barbel gear just in case match gear is not up to it. But I really want to master that area as 19.8 barbel and 38 carp and a 15 bream come of that area at the weekend. Seen the pictures on Facebook apparently he got 18ft just of his rod tip. I am not surprised by that its very deep in places

    Had the exact same issues at ulley last week, also loads of crayfish. Do you have any tips on keeping the crays out of your peg?

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel  Před 3 lety +1

      Oh mate I've heard about the crays t Ulley but didn't realise there were areas where it was snaggy! I've heard of loads of theories about dodging crays from not using fishmeal based mixes to avoiding feeding chopped-worm and whilst I don't fish venues affected by them, the most common solution I hear from the lads is to just move where you're fishing if they turn up!
