I’m a consultant as well in a similar role and I’m amazed how put together you seem during the day! I’m usually a mess haha. This video is a Very interesting insight into a day in the life of a peer!

Thanks for sharing what a day in your life look like. I know it super difficult when you need to work with people in time zones far from you. I usually work with New York when my time is Arabian Standard Time.... not the easiest of life. I hope the situation with COVID is getting better in NYC, please take care and keep safe. I’ve been working to get my degree in business administration but after everything went virtual, I started to question if I really wanted to do business but your videos really helped me realize what position I think I’d do best in. I was wondering if you would do a video about the content you read. You talked about it earlier. I am hoping to go into consulting. Particularly around management, ESG coms consulting and government clients / public service. Could you share what you read i.e WSJ, HBR and news. Stuff to improve business speak to really be well-informed for the work culture and new industries you work in. Do you take notes? Etc. Very Inspiring. Thanks for sharing Kristina!
Ooh sure! Do you mean how I read decks and other information that clients send over?
@@bykchoi that would also be interesting and great content for you. Reading well and picking up on stuff clients prioritize is essential. Alot of it requires a systematic approach i assume. I was refering to keeping well informed around issues that are taking place and also improving your business speak and language when communicating with the client. I suppose it is second nature for many completing degrees and going straight into work. I have completed Pr internships doing desk research and building media lists for outreach. I hope to use my experience to be a consultant.

hey Kristina, i've always had an affinity for Consulting, but it seems the industry is mostly dominated by those with a science/numerical bent. it seems your background was principally concentrated around Languages/Linguistics, where i also came from. does it come as a challenge for you to get your foot in the door, and how did you make a name for yourself alongside kids with a business/econs background, which def helps them stay one jump ahead when it comes to understanding the inner workings of businesses. how did you manage to navigate this deluge of technical information thats unique to each industry without having the prerequisite foundation?

Do you use a specific productivity app/software such as Notion, Asana, etc. for aligning your calendar, to-do lists, planning, project management, etc.? It's easy when you work at a big firm as they have all of these shared services in place but some small boutique firms allow each consultant their own flexibility. I find this a bit overwhelming and wonder if you have any thoughts on how best to organize as a consultant. I am a strategic consultant and work primarily in North America and have clients in both private for-profit and non-profit, NGOs. Thanks.
I don't use any specific apps! I just use my Outlooks calendar + tasks (to-do list), and we have separate timelines for each project (sometimes we use Smartsheet, other times just a straight up Word doc table lol).

My husband is based there (although he is also working from home)... but both of us work for companies that work on Eastern time, and we wanted to live in NY together for the first couple years of marriage!

Basically onions, garlic, spices (including cumin and chili powder), whatever meat you want, canned tomatoes, and beans/veggies (I usually use kidney beans, carrots, celery, bell pepper, canned corn)!
