Yes they was and still cool in their time of apice, for sure. I saw Ian with The Doors and of corse with The Cult too. With the Doors he did a great job too and The Cult nowadays will never be forgotten. Because they put a line in the time and it will never be erased.
At this stage of their career, the best Led Zep meets AC/DC copyists ever. Brilliant stuff. Electric is a gem of an album but Love is The Cult at the top of their game.
Robert Plant used to start out Stairway to Heaven by saying "This is a song of hope." I think this is a song of hope boiled down to its id itself. Beautiful.
The Electric album I have turned more ppl onto the cult since I was a teenager when this came out I was at the record store when sonic temple came out the day of....been huge fan since but electric is one of my top 5 must have albums
The way Ian sings cannot be held up for a tour. He is better in a controlled environment. Great song. Wish I could have seen live but may have tainted my love for the band (like Ratt, who SUCK live, but love studio stuff) some bands write things that don't transition well for long term live shows) still, will never give them up.
@cmatthewsable they are all over the place, festivals are an amazing thing these days with a ridiculous variety of styles from folk to dubstep and anywhere in between, White Stripes are one of the best commercially successful that I can think of as far as straight up rock goes but then there's alot more out there too
If you ever heard Danzig by Danzig, which Rubin also produced, in 1988, the AC/DC riffs were in there as well. I think Rubin was a fan of Mutt Lange, who produced AC/DC' Highway to Hell, Back in Black and For Those About to Rock albums.
@mtsn I even seem to recall an interview from back in the day, where they pretty much said that this whole album was an hommage to THEIR idols. That doesn't have to be a bad thing, as you pointed out.
Saw this tour in Houston, Guns n Roses warmed them up with their appetite for destruction album, To this day, that was the most awesome concert I have ever been to. Of course I was tripping my brains out, but hey, that's what concerts are for right?!!!
Whenever I listen to good ole rock n roll makes me really miss it. hate the crap rap they keep playing over and over and over on the radio. Nowadays just because it's overplayed on the radio makes it good. Wrong! Feel sorry for teenagers nowadays.
Imagine how many times he's had to sing the same songs over and over night after night. There's going to be those times when you're just not going to be in the mood. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some song I wrote when I was a kid and my whole character is judged on these damn songs. I think I'm a little more than this. Man, I just want to be at home right now."
AC/DC ? I just don't see it, and I play lots of AC/DC and Cult with my band...so I know the progessions inside out. It's kinda like when people tried to say Led Zep was ripping off Black Sabbath...ridiculous but non-musicians have wild speculations.
The loudest show I ever saw was the Cult. It was in Honolulu around 1994 and my ears are still ringing.
Morrison's peace frog becomes a peace dog. A much fiercer beast than the gentle amphibian of Jim's ramblings.
Got to be in the top 100 of ever.
One of their best, the cult are the coolest band on earth!!

I saw them live in Ottawa, Canada in 1988, Lennie Kravitz opened for them, totally blew us away! Haven't seen a better concert since!
I saw them during this Electric tour in 1987 at the Worcester Centrum when they opened for Billy Idol....and they were epic!
C☆F☆F☆C!

I got to see this tour at Halifax, NS when I was 14 years old. It was awesome!

Robert Plant used to start out Stairway to Heaven by saying "This is a song of hope."
I think this is a song of hope boiled down to its id itself. Beautiful.
Nigel Preston best drums of all their line up. BEAST
That’s Les Warner playing. He was the right drummer for the Electric album. Kept it nice and tight
The Electric album I have turned more ppl onto the cult since I was a teenager when this came out I was at the record store when sonic temple came out the day of....been huge fan since but electric is one of my top 5 must have albums
tellement bon.. juste jouissif
always loved the Davy Crockett hat
The German imperial skull from World War I is kinda rad too. Kaiser Willhelm would be proud.
Off to see them do the whole album in 4 weeks' time. Can't wait.
Love it!
Ian is my hero!
@justick where do you hear the original versions of these songs and yes, Electric, I always say, is the best rock 'n roll album ever
doing this shit in may for my school talent show! =D
9 years later. How did it go? 🤯
2:53 love that Robert Plantism
That's Rock!!!
I really am not a fan of watching recordings of live performances, but I can't enough of this stuff.
What? That is crazy talk.
Amen brah.
From Death Cult all the way to The Cult, These guys will Kick Your Fucking ass In Concert...Peace...

Ian sounds fine live to me.
Badass
Derivative yes, but quite good. In Electric you can find samples of almost any rock classic, from Cream to AC/DC.
Voce vera e rock
È stato il gruppo metal migliore degli anni 80. E non è poco.
frank nerazzurro de los años 80 y 90 !
piccolina Abdala Si certo, anche degli anni 90.

great song, does remind me of acdc,
if its rock n roll , let it play, I dont care who's playing it!

me too cause a agree with your heartfelt statement 100%! lots of today's music are pure crappolla!
Cuttin' loose with some e.x.c.e.l.l.e.n.t rocknroll
"Yi-yaa"
Ian sounded laryngitic on this tour & all the screaming fucked up his voice.
Thanks, the Rick Rubin!
Saw this tour in Houston, Guns n Roses warmed them up with their appetite for destruction album, To this day, that was the most awesome concert I have ever been to. Of course I was tripping my brains out, but hey, that's what concerts are for right?!!!
thanks to CULT ever and ever till rap goes down in the ground...
Finally a live performance where Ian doesn't sound like complete shit.
Whenever I listen to good ole rock n roll makes me really miss it. hate the crap rap they keep playing over and over and over on the radio. Nowadays just because it's overplayed on the radio makes it good. Wrong! Feel sorry for teenagers nowadays.
Who's the second guitarist? I thought the Cult only had one.
Jamie the bass player switched to Rhy Gtr on the Electric tour and on the Sonic Shithouse tour.
lol, you know what i mean.
57th! Ian seems a little bored in this.
Imagine how many times he's had to sing the same songs over and over night after night. There's going to be those times when you're just not going to be in the mood. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some song I wrote when I was a kid and my whole character is judged on these damn songs. I think I'm a little more than this. Man, I just want to be at home right now."
great album ....theyve ripped off every old ac/dc song they could. Better to steal a gem then to steal glass
ah electric....much, much better than that post punk garbage
AC/DC ?
I just don't see it, and I play lots of AC/DC and Cult with my band...so I know the progessions inside out.
