How to take apart a VW front beam

In this video, I go through the complete process of disassembling a Volkswagen Beetle front beam. We end up with a pile of parts and a stripped beam housing that is now ready to be modified into our Type C replica front axle.

Thanks for the great video. Got a question, I bought an aftermarket beam and doesn't have the 2 taps for the steering clamp. How do I know the right setting / angle for the steering box?

Thanks! Your best option in my opinion would be to leave the gear loose until the beam is installed on your car. Then, hook up the steering shaft and tighten the bolts after its lined up, don't forget to bend the tabs over on the lock plates once you're done.
