    Nice one Nigel. You'd be surprised at how many install these heaters with no CO meter! Shocking.

  • @terrykingsallotmentgardening

    Love the ideas in the comments and use of a radiator for bigger spaces Nigel, my polytunnel will take some heating so this has been very useful for me in the future.
    ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.

    We have one of these to keep our giant tortoise warm when it’s freezing in winter. His room is a converted stable, so it gets very cold…..it’s great! 👌

    Hello Nigel.
    What a brilliant informative video, at a time of excessive fuel prices. The installation, and modifications extremely well explained, plus your ideas to gain more heat. I look forward to future results. In the meantime take care, keep safe and keep smiling. Cheers. Pete.

    Good stuff Nigel. I went with one of those biogreen electric heaters. It’s thermostat controlled which is handy. Set to about 11 degrees, it cycles in and out 15-20 times per night. Not bad when you consider it’s a 14x8 greenhouse! I’d have tried one of these if I hadn’t got the electric one already. Welcome back, and I hope you’re better after last year’s health issues. Keep up the good work. The best gardening /allotment channel for me!

  • @whatdidyouthinkwouldhappen1203

    Wow. You did do your homework on that heater. I have a Kerosene heater, have not used it yet, seems to use a lot of Kerosene but is nice for short term and really puts out the heat. Love the graphs. Have a great day in the garden.

    Awsome. I was going to use a wood burner, but after the government put a ban on them last week, I don't fancy the £300 fine.

    • @MuddyBootz
      @MuddyBootz  Před rokem +2

      I don’t think they are completely banned, the particle matter emission is reduced to PM2.5. But you are still allowed to have a bonfire 🤔 Initial cost and size for a wood burner would not be practical for heating my greenhouse 😊

    Hi Nigel, great to see you back. Luckily, we don't have that problem here in Aus. However, I was wondering that since you bought an "off the shelf unit" and it needed so many modifications that the average person might not be aware of, could these heaters be a trap and even dangerous for the average person if not installed properly. Once again great video looking forward to your upcoming spring plantings. Cheers 😀

    That little orange knob/switch thing you can see at the side of the green LED (where the red lead is) you can turn the output voltage up from 9v to 15v and diesel heaters like a strong voltage.. I have the exact same mains supply and I have turned my orange switch up so my heater is running on 13.5 volts which is roughly a fully charged battery voltage..

  • @thescottishwildman3245

    you should try using a sand battery (old copper water cylinder filled with sand) with exhaust going through the copper coil inside the tank. 👍 on all the videos I've watched, the fuel pump MUST be at an angle. And get exhaust paste on that exhaust pipe connections. 👍

    • @MuddyBootz
      @MuddyBootz  Před rokem +2

      The sand battery sounds a good idea, but I am restricted for space. Have checked the exhaust connector with CO meter nearby and no leaks. I do have exhaust paste but I want the heater to be portable that is why I built it on a pedestal and to do this I need to disconnect the exhaust. I do have a couple of spare exhausts if I need to use in other areas 😁👍🏻

    Your remote controll will tell you your temp for tuning. My maximum internal furnace burner temp is 245°c and if I put my fan speed to 5000rpm I can just barely get to 245°c by putting my pump speed to 6Hz if I put it to 5.9Hz it won't reach 245°c.
    And if I put my fan speed to 4500rpm I have to put my pump Hz to 5.5Hz to maintain the hot 245°c burner temp. If you run it cooler it will soot up quicker.

    • @MuddyBootz
      @MuddyBootz  Před 6 měsíci

      I did a De-coke on mates heater who had that problem. Only took 30 mins and back running fine. I chose the lowest frequency for fuel economy. It raises the temp by 12C which is plenty for my small greenhouse. Also run a few tanks of Kerosene to see how that compares to diesel. Just got some bits using a motorbike fuel switch so I can switch over easier

    • @MuddyBootz
      @MuddyBootz  Před 6 měsíci

      The machine will do both, it depends what frequency you run the pump at. For economy I use lowest settings which raises greenhouse temp by around 12C

    Fantastic review Nigel, i see you have the same machine as my second one that im having no end of issues with thanks for showing the mods on this i was going to send it back as it keeps flaming out its no way near as good as my other i have had no issues with that one, however i think now i will try the pipe mods and put the pump somewhere else and mount it on an angle as it should be. thanks for the tips and do you have a link to how to set this remote panel for best consumption and pair the remote cheers Alan

    • @MuddyBootz
      @MuddyBootz  Před rokem +2

      Not sure what you are basing that on? Are you running it straight out of the box? By adjusting pulse and fan speed I have reduced fuel consumption by around 40%. What volume are you heating…. Mine is approx 300 cu ft. What fuel are you using? How long is it running for? All of the above will influence running cost. On lowest pulse setting which raises ambient temperature by 8-10C… with current fuel cost, mine costs around £0.17 per hour which based on current energy cost I think is cheap. 😊
