  • My pal Tim Holtz sent me some Distress and Distress Oxide reinkers to play with - so this is an early test to see when is the best use for each one when watercoloring on Arches! (Cheap watercolor paper acts differently.) Blog post with more info and pinnable images: bit.ly/3nunZYw

Thanks Tim! Thanks Mario! Thanks Sandy! This is great info! I got into the Distress Inks because of the transparency. Every time I had tried watercolor, I seemed to get a non transparent set! Or I was over concentrating the paint. Somehow, with Distress Inks, I finally understood the need for water, lots of water! Yes, it’s called watercolor, and I understood the need to make the liquid, but only to the extent you add water to drink mix to get what you want. The whole concept of varying the amount of water to vary the intensity of the color, that came from watching Sandy watercolor and Tim demonstrating Distress Inks from his plastic Distress Ink palette (one or two drops?)
More videos like this would be very much appreciated! Thanks again, to all!

Wow!!! You NEVER cease to amaze me!!! I love that you showed us the virtues for the use of the properties in each of the Distress Inks/pads (Regular / Oxide). I didn’t really look at these Distress Inks as something you use together for some reason. I appreciate you taking the time to do this!!! Sending love, hugs, & blessings always!!!
