Earlier I had less idea of Marathi classical, semiclassicals and folk (except puneri dhol & Bollywood songs/scenes) but now I can see that
- Marathis (Western India where Gujarati folk & Konkani/Goan folk also exist) have such a huge variety of classical, semiclassical & folk tunes + raagas like other parts of India
* North Indian & Pakistani Music (is called Hindustani Music) ex- Punjabi, Hindi (Khadi Hindi blended with Urdu, Regional dialects as gadhwali, rajasthani, bundelkhandi, braj, awadhi, bhojpuri folks not vulgar songs which exist in every language).
* Bengali & Orria in Eastern India & Bengali in Bangladesh.
* Assamese, Manipuri & other classical, semiclassicals & folks in North Eastern India.
* Tamil, Malayali, Kannada and Telugu classical, semiclassical & folks in Southern India (is called Carnatic Music).
I am an atheist (still i love positive cultural aspects of religions) and I am resident of UP but Now I have searched and enjoyed almost all Marathi Folk carried in newly added passion by modern masters like Rahul Deshpande and Mahesh Kale ... 🙏❤

I completely agree...Sonu Nigam is well trained into classical music as well...only issue is that deep in his heart he has believe that he is a musicologist , an institution of music and not a mere singer.... there comes the failure for him
And please... don't talk about part time street side entertainers like Neha Kakkar in this forum , when we are experiencing rich marathi gayaki.. that to a tough genre..Neha Kakkar is a fraud in the name of music... people who likes her renditions,i must say they don't even has the class or authority to speak in this kind of classical platform!
