This test is the world’s first rapid POC lateral flow immunoassay, produced by Healgen, for the detection of a current or past SARS-CoV-2 infection.
This new IgM-IgG combined antibody test is used for the rapid qualitative and differential detection of IgG and IgM antibodies of the novel coronavirus in human serum, plasma or whole blood in vitro. These proteins indicate that a person’s immune system has responded to infection with the COVID-19 virus. By using biomarkers from the body’s immune response to SARS-CoV-2 virus instead of looking for the virus itself, the test can help determine if a person has been infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus even after the virus is no longer present. The test is for professional use only.
The sensitivity of IgM test is 87,9% and specificity is 100% compared to the RT-PCR. The sensitivity of IgG test is 97,2% during the convalescence period, and specificity is 100%. Healgen has also received CE-IVD certification for the test.
