      Incredible showing from undoubtedly the two best players in the world right now! I'd agree that Djokovic's service return game was a deciding factor in the final set. In the first two, Djokovic still hit very very good returns (classic deep with a ton of pace); however, Alcaraz did equally well to neutralize its effectiveness and stay in the point, until the end of the final set.

      Excellent analysis. If I may add there is one stat specifically that you did mention (2nd serve points won) and why Carlos wasn't effective on returns.while he returned Djokovic first serves extremely well but appeared to be confused whether to stay back or move in on Novak's second deliveries. In my opinion his positioning was too extreme. He stayed too far back which allowed Novak to serve volley or moved way inside the baseline and got handcuffed. His team will figure out what to do though

    Absolutely great analysis! I love how you broke it down and explained it impressively and impeccably. Thank you. Wow. What a match for the ages. They both will work on their game ONLY to beat the other. No one else can beat them unless they’re mentally not 100%. Excited for US Open!😊

    Interesting no mention of Alcaraz cramping right hand the last tie break. That''s something to take into account.

      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  Před 9 měsíci +3

      Was it cramps or did he injure the hand when smashing his hand in anger after he lost the 2nd set? I didn’t watch the match live, watched the replay but skipped breaks so missed that part

    Great analysis!!! Could you make a video on hitting double handed backhands on loose and short balls? This is something I struggle with. Have no problem hitting backhands when the ball has speed in it. But loose balls… either drive them out or puts them in the net. Best, Daniel

    @willkittwk Před 9 měsíci +4

    Great breakdown. I saw it the same way! I even commented on another channel like you did. It's obvious to me that Djokovic is going into another stage of developing or tweaking his game to deal with guys like Carlos and Janik etc. He's about to diversify a little more like you say in order to deal with baseline players who can go head to head. 99% of players he can just run thru playing a conventional and impeccable baseline game. They can't match shot for shot over the duration with him. But Carlos and Sinner and Ruud and a couple others might start to give him problems. Also as he gets a little older he's gonna want new tactics and conserve energy for long tournaments. Fed did that at the end though he always had the biggest arsenal of shots to start. Interesting break down.🎾💯✔️🌟

    Honestly, especially in this case, all these days make little sense in my opinion. They both had championship points and a lot of chances to break at crucial points. Rallies were long and hard. Conditions played a huge role.
    I like though this new chapter in your channel

    Great analysis! Also think that where Alcaraz went of the rails sometimes was his decision making, for instance when Djokovic went to the net hit that volley in the corner, for some reason Alcaraz hits that ball exactly where Djokovic is still standing, instead of hitting it in the open court.. on setpoint in the second set for Djokovic he tries to hit that backhand up the line, and nets it.. wrong shot in my opinion, and lets not forget, Alcaraz is not firing on all cillinders! For the last couple of weeks! Thats so impressive from Djokovic! He just knows exactly when to play the percentage tennis, keep the ball in do nothing crazy, but still not to passive, and pulls the trigger at the right time! Alcaraz in my opinion needs to, like you said improve the second serve, and the returns especially, that way he's not immediately in a defensive position, and can conserve some energy, and put the opponent on the backfoot more often then not..
    I'll stop rambling😅 but fact remains, this rivalry is great! This is what mens tennis needs!

    I would not have thought that Novak could play at this level considering his age. I'm optimistic for the US Open, I think he needs to improve his percentage on the first serve and play some points more aggressively, especially with a player who runs so well.

    48% (23/48) CA
    2nd Serve Points Won

    As you say that was the key.

      on the other hand, only 49 out of 73 (67 %) on the first serve points. And Djokovik has to improve his percentage here... The next match will be interesting because both will analyze the match and try to find weaknesses.

    One question if possible. I am writing to you from Armenia. I am 33 years old (58кг 166-168cm height). I have wanted to learn to play tennis for a long time. I found a coach for myself, and today was my 9th lesson. I was able to play with him 10 times already :DD
    . I really like the videos on your channel, and I've learned a lot from watching them too. So here's my question... Could you recommend 1-2 specific tennis racquets that are suitable for a beginner player like me but also that have really good quality? I can order them from the United States or Europe, so that's not a problem. Also, I believe a larger head size would be beneficial to easily hit the ball ( BUT IF THE TREND IS SHIFTING TO 98 HEAD SIZE, MAYBE BETTER ME TO START FROM THERE?) . Also what you think is it better for me to pick light weight version of a racquet or a standard one like 280gram or near 300?
    Was thinking about these ones....
    1 - Yonex VCORE "L"
    2 - Yonex EZONE "L"
    3 - Pure Drive "team"
    4 - Pure Aero "team"
    Thank you in advance, would highly appreciate if you respond in a little elaborated way ) thanks again

      The best way to find the right racket for your game, is to test a few different frames. Buying a racket you’ve never used is risky, and often leads to disappointment. Most tennis clubs have a bunch of rackets you can borrow or play test, or tennis specific shops

      @@TopTennisTrainingOfficial thanks , one more question, is that a i as a suuper beginner need to buy a stiff racquet with a low tension strings? Was watching the channel called "intuitive tennis" and the person there suggests to buy stiff racquet not a soft one for a beginner with low weight with Co-polyester monofilament
      17/1.25mm
      MAX 52 pounds / 23.5 kg?
      do you agree?

      I’ve had moments on court where I felt horrendous, and you drink some electrolytes and have some snacks, you can feel better quickly. But, it happens so often to Novak that it looks suspicious at times for sure

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I think it wasn’t a cramp as many suspected, more an injury after smashing his hand on the bench after losing the first set. Some reports said he cut his hand which would explain the racket gripping issue

    If the sun hits you badly, the sun hits you badly, it's impossible to recover from that in a, short Time and much much more impossible to perform on the highest level with that. Medical impossible. That was as always when he is back a Typical djokovic. Medical timeout to break the rhythm. He's been there done that. In my, eyes unsportsmanlike cause he sets the stage for those fake timeouts. UND the youth do copy and paste. So thank you Novak to kill tennis like that..... Every time the same with that guy.

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  Před 9 měsíci +2

      If you’re going to criticise Novak for his antics, you have to also be critical of Carlos and his non stop coaching with Juan Carlos. Personally, I’d rather just enjoy the game than worry about what each player is doing between points

    • @ljubisalukovic
      @ljubisalukovic Před 9 měsíci

      The conditions were inhuman and Novak was forced to request medical timeout (whatever he was right for). Would it be fair that the deciding factor would be better endurance on the heat rather than a tennis skill?

    • @pankajborikar573
      @pankajborikar573 Před 9 měsíci +1

      As long as someone within the rules of the game, there should not be any criticism or concerns. Other player has to maintain his momentum. It is as simple as that.
