sir u said that in the alternative pathway the factor B attached to C3b directly but in book it was written that factor B also dissociates into Ba and Bb with the help of factor D and the Bb then attaches to the C3b to form C3bBb complex........help me i m confused

yes the factor B has two fragments further A and B ..A diffuses away and Bb remains.. so c3b-Bb complex forms

yes,D factor activates C3bB factor,where Ba diffuses away but Bb attaches to C3bB and form C3bBb complex.This C3bBb complex act as a C3 CONVERTASE.

I'm 2 years late, but just in case somebody else is wondering... you're right. Factor B (FB) is cleaved into FBa and FBb. C3bBb acts like a C3 convertase in alternative pathway. (In fluid, C3(H2O)Bb acts as a C3 convertase)
