    What I don't get is given you've already got the right width, why do you still need 1/16th inch spacing? Shouldnt the backings be touching already?

    I did not see our landscapers use 6" inch nails around the perimeter during our installation. Also, they did not butt the cut pieces of artificial grass together. They slightly overlapped them and then secured it. Now, there is a big seem that is very noticeable. Is there still a way for them to fix it or is it too late?

    • @bryangonzalez2851
      @bryangonzalez2851 Před 2 lety +1

      Im no expert but Im sure they can just cut the part that’s overlapping and do what they said here.

    I am trying to form a small garden, or at least a military base or 4x4 area. I tried taping the sheets of fake grass but failed. Now I've ordered some superglue to glue them from beneath. I've got no soil underneath so good luck with me trying this method out. However, I may try and staple them together if the glue fails. Thanks.

  • @774used
    @774used Před 12 lety +8

    Finished install looks good, but this is the only seaming video I have seen that does not use seam tape and adhesive (along with the nails). Which method yields superior longevity? My money is on the seam tape (with nails) instead of nails only as this video shows.

    • @justasbirgiolas1636
      @justasbirgiolas1636 Před 6 lety +1

      It basically boils down to your soil type: staples are fine if you have soft soil, and tape is good if you have hard or rocky base. If the soil is not soft, the staples will bend easily, requiring to move the staples, resulting in uneven spacing and "ripples" at the seam.
      Personally, the staple method seems to require more labor, while the tape method is fine as long as you get good tape and adhesive.
      This site does a good job explaining the difference: syntheticgrasswarehouse.com/ask-jw-staples-vs-glue/

    • @ge2719
      @ge2719 Před 5 lety +2

      Keep in mind this video is 7 years old. Did they even have a tape and glue back then to use?
      They've gotten a far better result here than the guy who did my parents turf . Not impressed when 7 years ago guys with no tape and glue were doing this good of a job. Guess the key is to find someone who is willing and able to do a good job.
