- In an exclusive interview with CBS News' Camilo Montoya-Galvez, U.S. Border Patrol chief Jason Owens said the situation at the southern border is a "national security threat." "What's keeping me up at night is the 140,000 known got-aways," Owens said.

This isn’t just a national security issue this is also a huge financial crisis that the American taxpayers are stuck paying. So 160 different countries have crossed illegally into this country; I thought there was international laws that asylum seekers are supposed to go to nearest country they are leaving for asylum what happened to that? Whether these people are fleeing bad situations or not it is not the United States responsibility to take them all in. The cost of living in this country for the average citizen is already high, housing is limited and expensive so where exactly are these people supposed to live and how long are we keep supporting people? Why should are tax dollars pay for people who used their money to come here illegally and don’t follow rules or laws? I guarantee you the majority of the U.S. citizens do not agree or want massive illegal immigration draining our resources and putting us at risk. We did not vote for this! This never should have been allowed to happen and president of this country is fully responsible for the hell this has unleashed on everyone.

This problem could have been tackled years ago but both Republican and Democratic parties don't want to do anything about it because they use it for politics. And while this happens Mexico should do something more, because most of the immigrants are not Mexicans crossing here they are from other countries and they should hold them at their borders. I'm glad you interviewed him, but you don't need to pander so hard to immigration activists. The gotaways are a real threat, and it felt like the reporter tried to downplay that. This interview definitely had a strong liberal bias, particularly the insistence that "this is a humanitarian issue", rather than one of national sovereignty. The US has no obligation to allow anyone to cross our border.
"Millions and Millions" at minimum are 4 million. Have 4 million prisoners been released worldwide to somehow push into the US? Could the number be fewer?
