    Brilliant, never seen something like this so simple and efficient for these visual explanations of cast shadows. Thanks a lot Mr Ariel !

    Thank you for covering a topic that very few artists cover! If you do a continuation of these ‘cast shadow’ videos, can you please make a video on figuring out the ‘cast shadow’ of *organic forms,* such as the *human figure* or an *animal?*

    Voavh thanks for this tutorial! We were taught shadows of some basic shapes like cube, cone, etc. but I wasn't sure about other shapes 👌✨
    PS: WATCHING UR VIDEOS IS MAKING ME TAKE ARCHITECTURE AS MY CAREER 🤭 (but I need to score good marks in entrance exam) 🤞

    Great work thanks.
    But shouldn’t there be a shadow on the „shaft“ of the first figure?

    Hi, this is really helpful! I have tried it out and actually found that there is something missing in the 1st drawing. I think the box on top should have casted a shadow on the box underneath, what do you think?

      The direction of the light would need to be less above the object so it could be noticeable(For example when the sun is going down or in the morning)
      You can still see a bit of it in is example if you look carefully

      I was wondering on how to know where to put shadows on the human body.
      Would you some how use this same method but in a modified way, somehow...?

    i have to do this for a drawing, my queston is, wouldn't the uper body project some shadow on the lower body on the light side? since the light comes form above? if so, how can i find that shadow?

  • @pixl3l
    @pixl3l Před 7 lety

    On the sphere you make a a dot for the ground plane, where it contacts the ground. Is this just a choise or is there a reason why it ends up there?

    • @arielbrindissketch
      @arielbrindissketch  Před 7 lety +1

      +pixl3l hi, it is a choice, I asume this is the point where the spheres touches the ground, this can be different depending the point of view from the observer. But for propose of simplifying method with this is ok.

    • @pixl3l
      @pixl3l Před 7 lety

    disculpa, pero en la primer figura, la figura cuadrada no proyectaria una sombra en la columna?

    • @arielbrindissketch
      @arielbrindissketch  Před 7 lety +1

      +Pancho Balderrama hola pancho, si efectivamente hay una sombra proyectada sobre la columna, quise hacer un vídeo sencillo de sombras proyectadas sobre piso para no confundir tanto, pronto haré otro más de sombras donde se vea el tema de sombras sobre planos verticales e inclinados. Gracias por el comentario.
