anti rejection drugs can and likely do suppress your body's ability to hold cancer at bay (or remove it all together when youre young). Not getting a lung transplant means you are 100% likely to pass away in the coming months bedridden and fighting to breath. I think anyone in their right mind would still go through with this... including you if you had to actually sit down and think through the decision. they only consider lung transplants when youre basically on multiple life-support machines. these machines can keep you "alive" but your brain will slowly start to have strokes and ur brain will eventually not function in a higher order capacity. the only frankenstein thing is to let someone stay in their dire position and not act to try and help them. I am sorry about your friend, she sounds like a really brave person who would "rather die on their feet than to live on their knees". We're all going to die it's inevitable. The whole point of living is not to be suffering. A lot of the people that have died from covid we're already unhealthy or had pre-existing conditions that attributed to covid killing them. We do need to keep our population down. Too many people using up our natural resources. Pandemics are nature's way of helping it's self.
