    • @drunkendrew217
      @drunkendrew217 Před 3 lety +2

      they actually mixed up two challenger 2 designs, the first one was the Rheinmetall challenger 2 with a new 130mm smoothbore gun and turret. Whilst the second was the RBSL (Rheinmetall/BAE) upgrade proposal, I believe this has the 120mm smoothbore gun and changes to the optics (note the sight above the gun is no longer there). I think both these proposals have the same optics/sighting package in one in a new turret and one in the original modified one and of course the different guns.

    • @bobincognito6239
      @bobincognito6239 Před 3 lety

      How can you say the Lynx, Skyranger and the corsac aren't new?
      You can't use production year for some vehicles and development year for others.
      The Armata is still under development so it would be nonsense to talk about it.
      The vt-4 is from 2017 the same as the Skyranger and corsac
      For the Leclerc, I don't think this video include upgrades.
      But yeah some of these vehicles like the Stryker and BVS-10 are 20yo, I don't understand why they are here.

      Go check @ 2:45 "An modular upgrade kit" So yes they include upgrade.
      The Corsac is an upgrade version of the Pandur II. The corsar prototype was proposed in 2016 and development finish in 2017 the slovak used it since 2017.
      The Lynx is not new, but you're right that never been in service. Not because no one have bought it that mean it new. Do you consider a 2015 Car never sold waiting in the dealership lot new?
      The Armata is in production and will deliver 100 units for 2021 according most of news. the prototype was in production in 2015 to 2017. the final version was (according news) done in 2019.
      Some don't have production year simply because no one want it yet (company don't built it if no one want it.)
      Rheinmetall built the Leopard 2A6. the one coming out of the factory line now, Do you consider it a 2020 tank or 2006 tank? PS the first 2A6 came out the factory in 2006.

      But you misunderstood, what i mean is that you can't use differents criteria (production year or development year).

      in the absence of CWIS, ECM, AA and air power, guess why many modern IFVs have mission modules and what those different turret designs provide.

    Germany finances Russian weapon development, through the purchase of natural gas!

      so do the USA then... they actually import as much Russian gas and oil simply because it is cheap. This argument is so moronic it hurts, barring a complete shut down of trade between countries you will have an exchange of money and material between them.
      The Northstream pipeline is contentious because of transfer fees for Eastern Europe (making the gas more expensive for Germany aka Germany subsidizing them) and the US wanting to sell their own gas (which they cannot because theirs is more expensive and tanker transport adds additional costs). Nothing of that has anything to do with actual security policy.
