Thank you for this video. I'm almost one month in and I keep seeing videos of people saying they only wash once a month. I'm used to washing my hair twice/week or once a week at least.
@@RickyMitchell-jz6kh Your locs are dope bro, I see your profile! Okay so, couple oils to use bro are Tea Tree Oil, Black African Oil, Argan Oil, Castor Oil, Almond Oil! But the most popular are Tea Tree Oil and Black African Oil or even Argan Oil bro, they work phenomenally with our kinds of hair! Question, how many locs do you have?
Do you warm the oil before using it or keep it room temperature? Also after you oil and sit under drier, are you rinsing the oils out or leaving them in ?
Hey Brotha, I was wondering…..(I’m about to start my loc journey. As a sensitive skin, currently loose natural, I could never put that much oil in my hair/on my scalp. Is oiling your hair that way something you would do as a loose natural, or is it because your hair is locked?? **side note** For people who want that lightness of that water/oil blend. If they use an emollient like BTMS they can successfully combine the two. Sensitive skin and allergies had me making my own products. You can also use your favorite water-based leave-in + water, trick. I often mix a bit of my own oil into the leave-in assuring it’s well mixed, then add water/aloe/rose water. Since the leave-in is water based, it already has an emulsifier AND a preservative. So it’s a kewl shortcut. Would that still work for me once I’m locked?? In case you’re wondering, no it doesn’t leave a white cast. It absorbs well and easily into my hair. Thanks for your videos they have been very informative.
Gratitude King. I am starting my loc journey and would hear different things about how often or not so often to wash hair in order for it to start "budding" it is good to hear that it is okay to wash it more often than not, especially for freeform. Which I chose because it is more authentic and feels better for me. Due to me having thin strains (not thinning hair) I have a lot of fly aways and was trying to figure out how to work with it. Now I know. I am going to try Interlocking. I have a question, how often should I interlock? Again, gratitude. Also, may I speak positivity to you? No longer shall you say bless. You, we have not been created to b--less, only increase (Ibukun), we are above (from above) the head ( on top). So, King, no longer b--less yourself or our people. We only Increase. Humble Gratitude,
This is exactly what I've been doing since starting my locs 21 years ago. I wash once or twice a week, oil only when damp and massage. I love the feel and smell of my hair. I dont understand how anyone can walk around with a dirty scalp. Its skin.
they look great! just a question, you say you wash your hair 2x a week, so does that mean you also make sure you oil after both of those times and do you shampoo & condition during those washes or just use water?
When you leave in a cold country, you can't wash every week. My locs would dry out. I have to wash it once a week and when in do. Its not even dirty. If so, how many times a week should I wash my hair in a cold country.
No way do you wash your hair every week, It takes about 3 Days for your long Dreds to dry, and washing so often will make your locks smell moldy, I will believe if you say you wash your locks twice monthly 😅
And you are right it does take 3 days to dry. Longest I have ever gone without washing is 2 weeks. Winters I wash weekly l, summers mostly 2 to 3 times per week. I enjoy washing. I go live on IG when I wash most of the time. Might do it here.
I wash weekly, and my hair is long hitting my ass, i usually wash towel dry, then let it out and head outside about my business, the sun helps to dry so no mold
Kris has been around for so long giving loc knowledge he’s the only one I really trust .
Same😊

Why do we think imposing our views is righteous? I feel like the energy behind it and intentions is what matters

I’d say washing once a week is perfect for locs, maybe even once every week and a half.
But not tell us what kind of oil? 🤷🏽♂️
Oil dries my locs all the time

Watch my beard routine video🤣
Im taking my locs to my grave

Ever heard of a tool called the drier? I hope you believe I own 1.

Some loc wearers are against oiling locs. BTW blessing yourself is no blessing at all!
