Special focus | Housing and its role in driving South Africa's development

According to the National Development Plan (NDP) shelter is not only a basic need but a development imperative for South Africa. Meanwhile, deepening inequalities and unemployment in South Africa have caused masses of people to depend on government for shelter because of the inability to access market-driven housing schemes. Why does the government not give people flats in Hillbrow and City and Berea, and renovate the buildings for safety reasons, and get rid of illegal slum lords, places where the owners left the buildings, tell them to keep it clean, give people incouragement, support them by giving them meters for electricity, with support people can learn and appreciate a flat, unoccupied land can also be used for flats, and the communities can work together to keep places clean, it takes less space
Also they can give them a small ground and say build you own house, but get a qualified builder to inspect and show them how to build, involve the communities and make them feel important, Let the government give works to them, like planting veg and fruits, there must be ways to involve youngsters to become workers and not loafers, teach them how to build and plant

We don't want affordable rental housing but affordable quality dignified ownership!!!! Apartheid deprived many and then we still find systematic economic exclusion. First amend the constitution the English and dutch law that exist!!!!!!!!! Then we can have open and honest dialogs
