- On June 27, 2022, American singer-songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina, Indigo De Souza, joined us at the Leon Loft for an intimate live performance and interview with Acoustic Cafe's, Rob Reinhart.
Indigo De Souza has been noted for creating "intimate, anxious indie rock songs” that wrangle with disappointment and relationship challenges. De Souza performed songs from her first album, “I Love My Mom” (released June 8, 2018) and also from her newest album “Any Shape You Take” (released August 27th, 2021) including “The Sun Is Bad”, “Darker Than Death”, “Hold U”, and “Sick In The Head”. This was De Souza’s first time at the Loft and her first time performing live on Acoustic Cafe.
You can find Any Shape You Take, Indigo De Souza’s latest album, on all streaming platforms. Vinyl, merch, and more can be found at www.hellomerch.com/collections/indigo-de-souza
In between songs, De Souza spoke about the difficulties of being on the road and losing touch with her art. She discussed working with producer Brad Cook, cultivating a creative community, and the importance of being honest and real before we die.
