- In this episode of “What Happens If” we are treated to something pretty cool. Once the guard turned deviant John tells the group about the key that is needed to take control of the truck holding the much needed biocomponents, we need to cause a general ruckus in order to begin the chase which leads to the decision to either “Save” or “Abandon” poor John who is at that point being mauled by a guard dog. As interesting as that is, it is not as amazing as what could possibly happen if you don’t alert the guards in this mission and have John join Jericho.
PS. What happens is pretty epic!

Detroit: Become Human is an adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, released worldwide on 25 May 2018. The plot revolves around three androids: Kara, who escapes the factory she was made in to explore her newfound sentience; Connor, whose job it is to hunt down deviant androids; and Markus, who devotes himself to releasing the androids from servitude. They may survive or perish depending on dialogue choices that shape the story as customized by the player. Story Chapters include: The Hostage, Opening, Shades of Color, A New Home, The Painter, Partners, Stormy Night and more! Characters include: Kara a newly created housekeeper android who develops artificial consciousness. Connor is an advanced police model android tasked with hunting down androids that have deviated from their programmed behaviours. John’s LED wasn’t even red before he got shot in the head after saving Marcus. It was blue so he was at peace knowing that even if he doesn’t get his freedom, he at least saved the android that gave it to him in the first place. Damn John is the MVA

On my first blind play through I tried to sacrifice myself as Markus during the protests but then John comes out of fuckin god knows where and KICKS ALL OF THEIR ASSES

John technically was a savior for Jericho, as they needed bio components and blue blood, when leaving him Markus only brings back the minimum, but with John giving us the truck option, they could’ve restored the fallen androids when they protested.
On my paragon walkthrough I stole the truck load and everybody seemed better off for it but in the end the next scene involving Markus and the group, there was still dying androids about to shut down? 😕 it’s stupid how it still played out the same regardless of what you did

Also, these actors doing the scenes 5 different ways is amazing. The voices, the bady language, the expressions, all hitting the emotional beats perfectly everytime. They put in so much work.

Haven't seen this scene yet. That was a good, but sad, twist that trying to save John turns out worse than abandoning him. My question is why the security dogs attacked him. John was also security and I doubt any human guards knew he was deviant yet. If anything it probably just looked like he was pursuing Markus and friends. Still a good scene despite that possible plot hole.
C. Miller I agree, just shows that humans don’t care about the androids at all, which is apparent throughout the game ik, but even if he was doing his job and chasing them, they would’ve done that. Pretty sad
Actually this scene played out worse because of the player’s actions with the security guard, check out game grumps, they managed to save him.

Cheng Teoh what really bugs me is that he doesn’t have an entry in the extras area. The android that gave Markus the key to Jericho does (despite being in the game for like 5 seconds) but not my boy John.

Leave the building and push a barrel over, you don’t get seen and get the trucks

You can come in through the bathroom window, use the screwdriver to cause a blackout, grab the key, and go back out the same window without ever being seen by the guards.

If you actually play the game you feel the pressure of doing the wrong thing and therefore I didn't bring John or the androids because I couldn't trust them.
Kara AX400 I played through the game twice and got what was apparently a close-to-perfect playthrough my first time playing (I didn’t notice the option to shoot the devient that was spotted in the broadcast room and protected Hank instead, leaving me dead). I didn’t feel any pressure about letting John join, as I figured all Androids once converted would fight for Markus, rA9, and for their own free will. rA9 is their “messiah” as Kamski says but I understand why you wouldn’t pick that option. Betrayal, could slow you down, a waste of resources that could be used for the rest of Jericho, etc.

I also chose to fight at the rally and John never died. I got Revolution ending with conner as deviant. Kara, luther, and alice are alive thanks to jerry and North is my slam piece. Not sure if I even want to play again. I got the best ending.

Actually is pretty comical when you get sloppy at taking down guards. Especially the most fun moment is when a doggy dog bites a plastic dude (aka. Markus) and knocks him unconsciou 😝 lol

What happens if you attack? I tried taking a stand and running away. Running away worked best, but taking a stand works too if John is there to save Markus's ass.

John's sacrifice made a whole new storyline, Markus would've been left and died there if John wasn't there
I went to save John and I lost supplies for Jericho I was so heated but they loved me when I broadcasted the speech so it cancelled out.
one time I didn’t let John come with Markus, just to see what would happen, and I regretted it so quickly
To get the truly great ending you can't leave a single Android behind, free androids but deactivating alarm first, Push the demonstration to limit but don't engage, start speach calmly but end it determined, this is crucial, don't leave Simon behind, make sure he can't be accessed by Connor. Protect Alice but leave no one who helped you behind. Don't let Connor die not once, not even in very beginning before credits. Be a good human/Android being & you'll get a satisfying ending. Let the girl go after credits.

I actually cried when John died, I restarted the chapter and chose the attack option which turned out bad. Dispersing is probably the best option
