      Your comment isn't complete, but I see what you're saying. However, the kit can't be installed the other way around. Furthermore, every supplier of these kits inidicate to install in this orientation.

    What was the size in length of those hood struts? How many mm?

  • @richardlindsay8256
    @richardlindsay8256 Před 2 lety

    I bought a set of these. They arrived quickly. I installed them easily. They are just a bit too tall where they attach to the fender. I'm pretty sure that they would start scratching the paint on the underside of the hood if I left them in place. So I took them off. I do like them though so I looked for lower profile rod ends. I did not find any so I am contacting the seller to see what they might be able to do.

      I got some for my EJ9 and plan to pair it with hood spacers just in case this very thing. Havent done the install yet as I have non cosmetic things I am trying to finish first.

  • @wongtanakanguyensmithlopez

    Are these pressure adjustable for lightweight carbonfiber hoods?

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  Před rokem

      No, they're not adjustable. I don't think these would be suitable for a carbon fiber hood.

    Would this struts fit if you have spacers on them ?

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  Před rokem

      It should. The struts are bolted to the hood hinge. The hinge will move the same with or without spacers.

      Check the pinned comment thread on my video. The link is there. Someone already asked before. I purchased on aliexpress but Amazon you'll just have to search for the civic application. I've seen it on there but don't know what brand they are.

    How are they holding up ?

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  Před 2 lety

      Still holding up perfectly. No clearance issues. Hood opens fine each time and I've been popping the hood a lot. Very happy with these. 😁 I never get tired of opening my hood and going woahhh. Lol.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  Před 2 lety

      It won't fit with the shock bolt. I tried and didn't work. And it'll probably sit too high. The shock bolt as is just clears the hood.

  • @oldskool1979
    @oldskool1979 Před 2 lety

    The thing with hood shcoks is that they arctually are moving with every bump in the road... they are never static... thats why they seem not to last a long time...so it doesnt really matter how many times you open and close your hood.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears  Před 2 lety

      Many of the forums I've read about hood shocks had no problems lasting. However, mine may not last as long as others since they're a China branded shock, but it's a neat little mod.
