- Join us for a lunch visit at the fantastic Off the Rails and for a walk around the attractive town of Yarmouth. Yarmouth is on the west of the Isle of Wight, off the south cost of England. We visit Yarmouth pier which was opened in 1876 and is the longest timber pier in England that is open to the public. We have a mooch around the shops and show you around the harbour. Finally we share with you the tidal mill on the languid creek, an arm of the river Yar. Definitely well worth a visit it was our first time at the mill too!

I’d like to see what shanklin chine looks like now. Not been in ages. The devils chimney isnt there anymore I used to visit there with my cousins. Last time we visited the devils chimney was in 2021 I think. Sad.
Hello we walked past the chine on Sunday, we will definitely do a video in Shanklin and include it for you. We always go at Halloween and they decorate it, it’s really fun and spooky! It’s really sad about the devils chimney I went there a few years ago with my daughter, there are so many areas falling into the sea now. 😞
@@KPislandadventures it’s really sad 😔 I’m moving to Ryde in the summer, all of my family live on the island and have been begging me to move over for years and finally taking the plunge. I’ve subscribed as I’ll follow and see if there’s any places or walks of interest you suggest that I’ll try out with my teens when we move over! Hope your leg is on the mend ❤️🩹
We tried to go to the chine for you this weekend but it was so wet I didn’t want to slip down the steps! We will try again once the weather improves x

We hope to moving permanently to the Island. We had our first house buy fall through but that has not put us off. We’ve sold up and moved our things into storage and are renting on the island at this time.

@@KPislandadventures only areas that do not appeal are Cowes and now Ventnor. We want to be as car-free as possible so being on or near an all year round bus route is a must. Off street parking within the boundaries of the property is a must. Definitely not looking at buying schemes as they are over priced to start with. Central heating already installed, don’t mind updating boiler. Able to move into condition, seen some real howlers. Love the west side of the island but you are never far from it anyway. Our lost sale was on the outskirts of Newport which ticked all but one of our boxes but was OK. Still do not know why it was removed from market as agents have refused to tell us. Thankfully we did not lose any money as it was pulled just before we signed contracts and I had done our searches online. Hopefully April will bring more properties onto the market.
@@KPislandadventures UPDATE we have been offered by the owners to buy the bungalow we are renting. Tomorrow will contact our solicitors and get them to finalise the deal if all is OK. A turn up to our search as no agents involved.
