Allen Lichtman is completely “clued in.” He has been making predictions for nearly half a century. He has never been incorrect once. Biden better not drop out.

@@SuperGion915 Yeah well that was due to the SCOTUS interfering in the election. The US Constitution does not give the SCOTUS the right to decide elections. If the recount had continued, thousands of votes in Florida would have been counted that weren't the first time around.

It's almost as if he knew there was going to be a very controversial proven fraud taking place in the state of Florida, which went to the Supreme Court to then show that the recounts heavily favored George W. Bush and not Al Gore in Florida, thus showing that Bush did win the Electoral College by winning Florida, which attempted to falsely put Al Gore catching up to Bush's numbers, but failed and rightfully so, as our votes need to be protected no matter who you vote for.
So yeah Alan Lichtman was careful in 2000 not to call an actual winner, otherwise he would have been wrong for the very first time in his prediction.

Gore would have been president if the Supreme Court didn't stop the recount. Even so, he was only predicting popular vote at that point, and switched his analysis to predict only electoral college.
They recounted multiple times, and Gore lost every time.

And now RFK is running as independent, not to mention the Green Party and Cornell West (who's recently stated he will also run as an Independent, and not as a Green) ... and with Biden polling well below Trump, esp in swing states ... it looks as though Biden might also be added to that list ...and, as such 4 of the last 8 incumbent Presidents would have been defeated ... 50-50 odds ... that's not HUGE ... that's a flip of a coin.
It is when things are going well or in a time of war. But when there are domestic problems, then incumbency can actually be an albatross

He talks about looking at foreign policy successes/failures as well as the economy...in his book he explains it's about the actual successes and failures in forging policy and economy AND perceived successes/failures with all of the above.
This is where I get stuck and I'm curious what others think.
He, and many other experts, believe Biden had been successful in all of these areas, and that the economy has been improving. BUT, as he points to, the media/DNC do a very poor job of explaining this. So, it seems most of the country has no idea of the realities...
What do we think he would say if this trend continues...where Biden actually succeeds in terms of foreign policy and the economy...but the perception of flat wrong...

Too early to call. Right now the popular 3rd party challenger, Cornel West, is only polling at 2%. He needs at 10% in multiple polls to turn that key, but again, it's too early to call.

And since this interview, the economy has been getting stronger. Gas prices are coming down along with inflation. The stock market hit record highs (Trump said it would crash).
I bet the republicans will refuse to raise the debt ceiling (Jan 18th I think) in order to crash it before the election……then they’ll try to blame the Democrats.
Gas prices are coming back down which is good, but overall inflation isn't, the established high prices are likely here to stay.
