Years ago I was a official with A.R.D.C. and T.S.R.S. 305 sprinter's. There were drivers we could not put on the pole for a heat race or feature because they couldn't handle it or totally screw it up.
Ok all the bad luck is over. . All good finishes to come. Power of positive thinking !

Bill we still got your back. It sucks because you had an awesome starting spot in the feature but like you said once you started dropping like a rock nothing good could come from it. Running a motor that you unfortunately need to get the kinks worked out without tearing the car up trying to do so. Totally agree with the decision to pull off. Another great video. That’s what you do. If it feels not quite right, bring her in. I used to run alky, ran a hose from manifold to dash, hooked to a valve. Open an it would go lean a warm ol big block up. But don’t forget to close it up!

My Cook cars had a Dial a Jet mounted next to the wing valves. In my day we ran 2 wing valves. Forward/backward and side to side movement. The Dial a Jet was a nice thing to have but rarely used it except for cold nights. Mine was set up for more lean than rich. There was numbers on there I couldn't imagine anyone ever using? I guess that's what Keith Kauffman liked because that's what Roy Morral had in it? Good enough for me!!

They called like 5 starts back or something stupid. Its bullshit The 2nd start wasnt any better than the 1st.
Pole sitter should have lost the pole for not maintaining pace and causing the 3rd place car to rear-end the pole sitter. Send the vid to the track every time that happens. Eventually, the track management will put her on notice or at a minimum, ask her to get her eyes checked 😮
I guess the 33 used the new rule to his advantage. Knowing youd get called for a false start, he knew you wouldnt get penalized but also knew you wouldnt do it again and he could take off. Glad you didnt get penalized but that rule is just going to cause more BS. (Not that I need to tell you!)

early days at san jose when they called false start on a few guys. they would pull up to an official kick her outa gear n give her a few revs.argue with said official,get kicked off track. would be quit the show some nights!

It's all a game at this point. Pole sitter clearly jammed brakes and never took off and you took off at the line what else are you supposed to do? It's obvious the pole sitter never went because Taylor almost ran into the back of him.
