    Nice Video, A $20 Part fixed my 13 year old Whirlpool Icemaker, I only had to Purchase the Control Board, $20 and had it Next Day from Amazon.
    MAN I will tell you, This IS THE COLDEST REFRIGERATOR I HAVE EVER SAW IN MY LIFE !!! At Halfway on Freezer and Fridge, with 75° Room Temp, the Freezer is -2°, and the Fridge is 30° AT HALFWAY, I had to turn them Both down, but yeah man !!!
    And 1 note to add, The 1st thing you should do is PLUG IT IN, set your Meter to 500 Volts, and test L & N to Verify you have 120 Volts without Power, the rest is Useless, but with the New 1 Installed, water hooked up and Turned on, Plugged IN to 120 Line Voltage, and The Arm Down, I only Did the Jumper Test from T & H FOR 3 SECONDS, and watched the Complete Cylce, Lifted The Arm, Installed the Ice Bucket, Lowered the Arm, Closed the Door and went to Bed, got up this Morning and BINGO, had 3/4 a Drawer of Ice, As you Mentioned I also got the 1.5. Watt Motor as well, and It's fine.
    2 other Notes to Add, If you test the Water Valve Circuit, IT WILL POUR WATER EVEYWHERE, as the solenoid operates on a Lower Voltage when not being Jumped, also When Checking For 120 Line Voltage at L & N, IF YOU DON'T HAVE VOLTAGE, the Black wire on the Side, has a VERY NOTICEABLE FUSE in the Clip Holder, so it may be bad, but IMO THAT should be the 1st thing you do, but anyhow, thanks for the Video.

      Do you have a part number for the cable. I just replaced my unit, not knowing there was a fuse in the wire, my new unit did not come with a new cable harness.

      @@7MBoosted I'm sorry, I do not, I never Had to Remove the Wiring Harness, just test for 120volts at the deignated pin, if no power then replace the inline fuse, and you should be able to get something Universal etc

    I found 2 of the contacts had the green crusties. I used a little vinegar on the contacts then a little sanding to clean them up and now my ice maker is working fine.

    Just watched your video. I’m trying to diagnose why my ice maker pours water but makes ice slowly and doesn’t dump ice into the ice bucket. If I use a jumper wire it will cycle, dump the ice then fill back up. Repeat by jumping manually. Have a good day and thanks for the video.

    Great video…but you said the ice maker had ice in it when you started!
    At what stage did the ice drop?
    Water came in “after” you installed the new module! Thanks

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před 17 dny

      It would add water but not turn on the heater to allow the ice to exit. Since it was frozen in there with no heat to separate, it wouldn't turn or dump ice.
      Once repaired, it took about 30 minutes to an hour to drop ice...I think. I checked it the next morning and there was a significant amount of ice in the bin.

      None. It actually seems to make ice faster now than it used to.

  • @NativeTexan44

    It is making ice and dropping, but water is leaking into the ice bucket and freezing. Also some water is leaking out the of the ice bucket and dispenser. I think the water valve is bad. Am I correct?

    Nice job, Keith and helpers. Great tips on the jumper. Was the piece with the missing electric contacts for the heater?

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před 11 měsíci

      Thank you Tom. I believe that is what the missing piece went to. I probably should have looked closer at the circuit to verify. I never did find the piece that came off. I always hated when a part went missing and I couldn't find it. Even on copiers.

      Mine seems to freeze over in the internal mechanism and the wheel doesn't turn, like it frozen. Like moisture got inside and frozen it up because a hair dryer blowing and it starts turning.

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před 10 měsíci

      That sounds much like what mine was doing. The timer should turn on a heater on the tray to separate the ice to allow for it to come out. If the heater never activates, then the ice stays frozen in the tray locking up the timer.

    Is it 72ohms also for Europe where we have 230V. My heating element works but says about 290 ohms. My problem seems to be the valve as i have a drippy tube that cloggs maker and eventually fills entire freezer side with ice as it overflows

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před 6 měsíci

      The heating element is probably good. Usually, when they go bad, they show infinite resistance.

    Could you tell me what it means when I initiated the cam and it started, I pulled the jumper out after ten seconds the cam stopped around the 8 o'clock position. I reinserted the Jupiter but will not move. I can hear a slight noise coming from the cam area but it has not moved since I initiated it. I have check most test points and seems to be ok but its a little confusing at this point as it will not move from this 8 o'clock position Thanks. Oh and no water. V & L 200 ohms.

      Thanks much I did check the V and L points had voltage, is that suppose to initiate water flow or checking the pumps ohmic value. I also noticed that there is ice in the tray shallow and thought that this was holding it back. I check the ohms on the heater coil seemed ok. I will stay with the water valve again wondering what I am check on V & L again thanks for taking your time out. Ice maker motor is new. Thanks again.@@TwoKeysStudio

      Check the power at your outlet. You may have a wiring issue in your home if it's only 100v.

      it might be the intake valve.

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před 6 měsíci

      Like Liniscata said, intake valve. Also it could be a frozen line. Do the output check for the valve and listen for a click. If there is no click, replace the valve. If it clicks but no water, the hose might be frozen.

      Cycle runs but does not refill with water. My valve is fine - the ice maker is not sending the signal to it. It works perfectly when I jumper V and L, but will not fire on its own. It was intermittent for awhile but now has stopped completely. Everything else is fine. Some internal connection is faulty in the cycle. Any ideas?

    Why don't you show what to set your meter at before you do your test. You should ...

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Oops...I inadvertently edited that out of the video. It was set to 200ohms for the resistance tests. Basically go to the next higher setting for what the expected ohms or volts are that you are measuring. I have been considering adding a video on the basics of using a meter in the future, so look for that to be added. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
