Couldn’t let it not happen
@@warhatter Palpatine would be proud
The old space wolf grey smells a tiny bit like chocolate to me. I can confidently say it doesn't taste like it.
forbidden snack
@@MrTavrosNitram one of them must taste alright. 🤣. The Vallejo white has a sweet taste.
The old bone paint from GW (i forgot the name) in the black hex pots tasted the best of them all...
@@francois2449 bleached bone?
@@rubscratch98 YES! That one
Reminds me of something I saw recently.
People wont generally get into a swimming pool if it's got a corpse floating in it.
But people get in the sea which has corpses in it.
So people have an acceptable ratio of corpse: water beyond which they're happy to get in.
i mean tbf, i think people probably wouldn’t go into the sea if they could *see* the corpse either, thats probably a factor
It really depends on how many corpses I need to make a raft.
"Waiter, there is a corpse in my soup!"
"I am very sorry, sir, how can I make up for this faux pas?"
"Bringing me a larger bowl of soup!"
@@monochrome_soft9472 depends how fresh it is..
On the other hand, people think nothing about breathing air, despite all the many peoples' ashes have been released into the atmosphere. Both for funerary purposes, and the various points in history when people were burned.
You, reading this, have inhaled a non-zero amount of Human in your lifetime.
Next video: GW vs Army Painter, who makes the tastiest paint?
Lol, I'm 36 and haven't actually painted a mini since about 2000. But god damn.... yeah I remember doing this with my juice as a kid.
I stuck mine in my dirt cup, talk about instant regret LOL
Gotta say, if you throw goofy stuff around like this sometimes.. I’m totally here for it! XD
This video combines the scientific mindset of goobertown videos with the manic creativity of miniac. Amazing
Yeah I almost expected to see goober pop up instead of palpatine in the end 😂
My personal favorite blend of paint coffee is:
black coffee,
9 drops of Vallejo white surface primer (Really sets me up for the day)
4 drops of Vallejo sick green (adds color and gives a nice smell of burned car rubber)
2 drops of any black paint (I use Vallejo being that’s pretty much all I have)
And finally, 1 drop of Agrax earthshade from citadel. (This is the most important one being that it ties in all of the other paints together) and don’t use nuln oil, it stinks and I can’t put my nose within 4 feet of that without gagging.
Anyway, what’s your favorite blend, I’d love to try them!
My "coffee" is usually 100% mournfang brown paint water, since I usually forget to make a real cup
More expensive than most coffee brands, fancy!
I prefer to add a touch of skeleton horde to spice it up.
Just reading the title already had me ready for an epic video
Prepare for disappointment
@@MidwinterMinis You missed a golden title opportunity, though: "4 cups, 1 Guy" :D
Reminded of my first time working in an FX shop. Every ten minutes or so one of the painters would be running from his bench to the bathroom. I thought he had a stomach bug or something but no, he'd been dipping his loaded brush (Silicone paint thinned with Naphtha) in his coffee every few seconds without noticing. This happened EVERY ten minutes....
I enjoyed watching this on my break at work, the midwinter spitties made me laugh out loud
I came close to painting my tea this weekend, and that would have been the first time in 22 years of painting
That you are aware of 😄 It is like the old question of how many spiders do you eat in your sleep.
I'm impressed you made a whole video on this topic!
It's amazing what procrastination can do
Seems like more and more CZcamsrs are doing "hobby videos" on stuff that barely has anything to do with the hobby.
But at least the Midwinter videos are fun. Can't say that for most of the others.
@@barbarusbloodshed6347 can be difficult making weekly+ videos on the same topic
@@MidwinterMinis I was expecting the video to end after the first tasting, with a promise to return to the subject in a future video. You need to learn to pace yourself, and make quality content like this go further. 👍
@@hejthenerd exactly, that's why I expect the integrity from people to simply NOT MAKE A VIDEO when they don't have a good idea that genuinely excites them.
Or do it like Midwinter Minis and make something that's OBVIOUSLY nonsense and not making any effort to sell the silly idea as a hobby idea.
I unsubscribed from at least a dozen hobby channels during the past 24 months for this exact reason. They just kept putting out crap, they knew it was crap but they tried to sell it to me (and everyone else) as some great thing/idea. Nope. That's not for me.
Midwinter Minis asking the questions we were all asking!
The main conclusion I took away is that when expecting it someone can detect the paint. Hattie clearly needs to do a covert experiment of putting paint in Guys coffee and see at what point he notices.
The more paint water you drink the better at painting you get
Science!
Next week: How much milliput can Guy eat.
Considering how much my cats love drinking out of my cloudy paint cup, I thought it'd taste better. I swear, they wait for me to season it for them.
Now THIS is the quality content I come here for.
Awesome video. Everyone don't drink you paint water. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work.
Just to be clear. Non-toxic means if you use it as intended/normally, paint with it, maybe get a bit on your fingers and wash it off, it won't harm you. Consuming paint, even a tiny amount, might be toxic. A manufacturer wouldn't have tested their range in that way, as it's not its intended use and they actively say not to consume it for that exact reason. GW and every other acrylic paint company will tell you the same thing - don't consume your paint.
I had put Valhallin Blizzard on my Armies bases for Bolt Action (Soviets) afew minutes before I got the notification-
This is scarily convenient. Today I was worried about the taste of my coffee as it was tasting salty or sour. And we kept going through all sorts of troubleshooting to figure out why. And then I read on Google that there could be a sign of a sinus infection or something change with in your nose polywhatever... then I remembered that I did airbrush terrain for the first time ever. I was outside, and I did use a respirator/gasmask for half of it... also today, I see this video. Freaking love your guys content lol!
This is the greatest scientific test performed by man
Love how having a hot drink whilst painting is almost a universal experience, paint slurping or not
this is the perfect answer to the intrusive thoughts I get when I see a certain colour & texture of a paint that looks like a dessert I grew up with (I know it would be disgusting, but the intrusive thought is always there at the back of my mind...)
I'd be quite curious to see a mini Guy and Hattie each paint with just tea, coffee, soap and other household non-paint substances? :)
Well, coffee is a good way to add patina to things, and tea tends to stain quite nicely as well (different stain colors depending on the tea).
So, I'd love to see that video as well.
Maybe even add a few dry ingredients as well, like cocoa-powder for example.
This is one of those ideas that keeps coming back to me but I never thought I would ever see a video on it 😂
It's always exciting to see you guys make something that isn't your usual type of video!
Iw! You deserve a like for doing that for us!
It was great fun to watch.
Thank you!
This is the weirdest James Hoffman video I've ever watched.
This was a jump the shark video for me.
Try it with tea, I drank most of a cup before I realized once...it's non toxic for a reason.
**USE A CUP WITH BROKEN HANDLE**
Love your videos keep them up
Do different paints taste different? The community needs to know!
Metallics taste sweet. Washes taste terrible
yes, they do. 100% not recommend (I have the bad habit of using my mouth to shape a point in my brushes).
Cutting edge science. 10/10. Between this and the 100 coats videos i am loving the varied content! Great laughs!
And that is why I use a jar and not a cup for rinsing my brushes.
And this kind of quality educational content is why Midwinter Minis is the best hobby CZcams channel.
As an avid coffee drinker and sporadically long painting sessions, I've developed quite a tolerance to paint-tainted coffee and coffee scented brushes!
Ah yes, the lovely taste of drinking paint water! Even worse than sipping at painted coffee. xD
Thank you for asking the important questions guy
As an avid brush licker, this video peaks my interest
OH NOOOO the end of the video has my dying😂 this nonsense is why you're my favorite hobby channel.
This was absolutely gas
This reminds me of the time I wrote an essay in school about how good drinking GW washes/shades tastes and all that. Actually got a really good mark on that.
Nothing can beat a good chug of enamel paint/white spirit back in the day before acrylics.
Ugh! I once "washed" an enamel-paint brush in my tea; not an experience I want to repeat. 🤢
Presumably, they have to add something to the paint to fine tune the surface tension. There might be regular detergent in it, which is what you put in a bubble machine.
Finally! someone is asking the real questions!
When you have to paint a Titan but youtube demands more content
Now THIS is quality hobby content

You have won a prizes....Thank you!!!
Love the end screen with Guy brushing his teeth in the back
Why is this video not the most popular on the channel? If my experience with youtube taught me anything this should have a million views.
Thank you , Guy .
🐺
First video I’ve watched since a friend recommended this channel… I’m subscribing… I appreciate the “balls out” attitude. If you’re willing to go to extreme of drinking paint for the good of science, I can only image what you do with painting miniatures.
You need to repeat this rest with Valljeo paints, they're the bast tasting paints by far. (Do they actually put some kind of scent or flavour in them?!)
It's a bit concerning that you know the best tasting paint
Mid/late 90s Citadel are the best tasting paints; significantly better than Vallejo
@@childofthedarkrat yes. Skull white.... ultra marine blue.... 1996 hit diffrent.
Lol I feel people would look back and point to this pivotal moment as guy's cry for help - when his videos took the subtle transition from from how to paint, to which paints taste the best...
@@childofthedarkrat 1990 was a good batch.
Literally did this for the first time yesterday, right after my partner warned me not to. Your timing in impeccable
Loved the special guest appearance from Sheev Palpatine!
Ladies, if you ever need to get your grandmother's approval for a boy you have just started seeing, get that jumper on them and show them a photo of them wearing it...
love this type of relatable WH challenges!

OMG that ending.
you guys are crazy. I love it >:D
What’s worse is when you drink water in the same kind of bottle as your paint bottle and then you start downing it and don’t realize your mistake until half the solution is gone.
There was another video on CZcams where a guy experimented painting a miniature with his own blood and now this, an educational video about drinking paint. I can only assume you’re all getting bored of just painting miniatures or have suffered some form of collective breakdown. Either way, I enjoyed it. Good work.
Asking the real tough hobby question.
Great video to start the week off with...lol.
Ah this is my kind of video. Mix up my cups all the time lol
Asking the really impirtant questions now
Well, it’s always good to know it might not kill you.
Impressive wet palette.
And that's how Guy got his superpower to spit paint.
actually glad to know since sometimes i have some tea with my painting instead of water and 2 almost identical syrofoamvpsinn a pinclook SO alike.
Deadpool: ‘I never say this but DON’T SWALLOW’ 😂
You were definitely the kid that was eating glue in school.
Just ask LEGO, they are drinking paint in buckets deciding their prices.
GUY!!!!!! noooooooo 😂😭 I accidentally did this with crackle paint as I couldn’t be bothered to get it off my hands so I thought taste test and ewwwwwww my mouth dried up with it 😂
Proving I will watch anything with Guy in it haha.
Proof that Midwinter Mini's is a lightweight. I drink 100% paint and 0% coffee every morning.
I've never drank my coffee after getting paint in it, but I have cleaned my brushes in coffee and stared, disappointed, at the cup.
Guy from MM asking the hard questions and getting the difficult answers.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Guy putting his life on the line for science?
A British man openly drinking and enjoying coffee? Spiff would disapprove.
Nothing like a double shot of Agrax Earthshade to take the edge off the morning
"I'm Johnny Knoxville and this is Midwinter Minis."
The other classic would be grabbing the wrong cup and taking a big sip, Just like i did last week, mmh gunmetal flavoured water 😂 great Video as always 🍻
1 Guy 4 Cups
That last bit😱😂😂😂😂
After ingesting that much paint he’ll be peeing out acrylic washes for the next week.
Hattie enjoyed that way more than she perhaps should've good girl!
And that's why I have my drink on my off side.
I put my water on my right, so I have to stretch and my drink on my left so I have to put the model down to grab my drink
SCIENCE!!!
I've learned this the hard way. I keep my drinks in a different area because it has happened more times than I care to remember.
Clearly the next step is to see which paint brands taste the best. For science, Guy. For science.
100% paint challenge baby here i come

NEXT WEEK: "Hi, I'm Hattie, the new CEO and presenter at Midwinter Minis..."
you should try this but with paint thinners!
Two consenting adults with a blindfold and a spit cup; not the sort of video I was expecting. Ending on 2-Presenters, 1-Cup 😲😄
Guy might be colour-blind; but he is also a kinesthetic marvel. If I'd been reaching for those cups with a blindfold on, they'd have gone flying everywhere.
To be honest I wasn't worried about my well-being, I was worried about splashing coffee all over my battle mat!
