😂😂😂
It's so satisfying to watch a craftsman at work still using hand tools in the old school way. Beautiful bat by the way.

School?
Jhonny bairstow has such a good brother he is making a bat for him
😂
Thanks for watching. Please let us know what you think about the pace and style of the video. E.g. music, yes or no, length of the video, areas where we have tripled the speed, and if you prefer us to start the video from a raw cleft or a handled/pressed cleft as we've done previously.
Also, contact your local cricket store and ask them to stock Fantail. We’re on the lookout for new stockists around the world.
Just don't get disappear. Keep posting love your videos.
Raw cleft start is good. Would love a little bit of commentary on the names of the tools and the reasoning behind some of the steps.
Mind blowing @Fantail
Bro this is incredible can we talk some business?
Love the video
So Bairstow's been making bat during his rehabilitation period, NICE 😊
Nice video explaining the bat making. The pace is good, but if you could the dimensions of the cleft (like 3ft long x4 inches wide x 2inches thick etc.,) before the start and how much is taken off at the end it will be great. Best wishes from Canada
Something oddly satisfying about bat making. Especially the pings😊
Keep the videos coming.
Lots of love from India
Youre watching this at 3 am means youre indian only know
🙏🙏🙏🙏👍🏼👍🏼
Beautiful ! Love the way he made the cricket bat and knocked the bat, put the oil and taped it. The bat also looks awesome.
Awesome video mate very therapeutic. Great to see you back as well. Agree with some of the comments, just a few descriptions of tools used at certain parts, how and why you use them ect, what you look for in a cleft before you start and how you grade them. Only like 4-5 quick chats sprinkled in. It's really great as is though!
Thanks for your ideas. We can add some of that to future videos. We did the same for some of our previous bat-making videos.
Would love to know more about some of the tools. The roller especially and also that knocking mallet is amazing!
For sure, we've started a new channel called @fantailparlour which will include more detail about what we do.
It looks beautiful bro.. excellent skills and offcourse you got top end tools😊
Beautiful work really satisfying....I am genrally the type of person who wants to see short videos but this kept me going....❤
I am a cricketer myself here in India and absolutely delighted and impressed by the videos i have been seeing. Abs wonderful and look fwd to seeing more. Cheers
Thanks a ton
It’s great to see you brother after long time now make more videos like this ………. Love ❤from India ❤❤
A piece of art and Hardwork, it was lovely to watch this video
I will never look at a cricket bat the same way again. You make works of art. Beautiful process.
Great work and dedication... lovable profession...
A piece of art! Wonderful.
Beautiful! What a glorious process to watch, both as a cricketer and a hands on guy who has done engineering, metalwork and woodwork and likes making or repairing things. You Sir are an artist! Loving the chilled out wonky beats, kinda Fat Freddie meets Mr Scruff! 😁 only just clicked that you’re a leftie too! Do you play yourself and is that how you got into bat making, or the joinery/technicality came first? 🤙
Thanks for watching. I appreciate the feedback. Playing came first at school, then picked up furniture making/woodwork later on and joined the passions together.
Any job from ur bat factory...
That drawknife is so sharp! Love it. Wonder whether the wood glue will be strong enough to withstand a solid hit from the toe? Do bats these days use glue or epoxy, and are the surfaces of the two bits of wood ‘keyed’ before glue up? Here’s hoping, as it’s a piece of art
Dear @charlieNumbers: just so that you don't get confused mo chara, that "drawknife" you mention is commonly known as a "spokeshave" in other English-speaking countries (obviously apart from yours - if you're a Septic [Septic tank - Yank]). It's what it was invented for. Y'know, shaving down spokes (of wooden wheels)?

You Sir are an artist! Beautiful! What a glorious process to watch, both as a cricketer and a hands on guy who has done engineering. I am from Pakistan. love your videos always.
Very nice craftsmanship. I thought the cricket blade (without the handle) had a maximum limit and that's why the handles were longer and shorter for bats.
Is the maximum limits for the bat measured from the toe to the top of the handle? Not specifically on the blade only?
Amazing to watch the efforts that go into that sole soothing knock sound ❤
Beautiful piece, amazing work 👍 as always love your videos ...❤
Thank you very much!

Was great to see you back after 8 months.....just suggestion - keep the video length upto 10 mins only. Love from India

@@FantailCricket where you based mate ??
@@chohanraj I think from Newzealand
@Lachit Barphukan first read my comment and then open ur mouth
Awesome video, thank you so much for showing your bat making process in such detail! I have a couple of questions about the oiling you showed if you don’t mind me asking.
When you oiled the face before putting the bat on your knocking in machine - how long did you leave the oil to dry/ cure… or did you knock it in whilst the oil was fresh? And the same goes for before adding the scuff sheet... How much curing time do you allow there please? Many thanks, Phil
Bats are oiled overnight before knocking. After knocking and a light sand, a small amount of oil is applied to the face, and the facing is applied immediately.
I have a fantail bat! Amazing performance. Hit a boundary on third game with that bat.
just so beautiful man. next time a need a cricket bat, i know where to go :)

Bro great work so so natural your amazing man God bless..I will love a bat from you.

Amazing work ever i seen in the CZcams i can't believe how u made the batt, i would love to play on the batt.❤🎉
Superb craftmanship🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice to see you back ❤️. Do more bat repairing and fixing videos. Love from India ❤️
Thank you! We'll definitely get some repair videos made.
biggest dream of every cricket lover 😢
This hand made manual process gives me chill. what if you cut too deep at the final stage?
You develop control and accuracy with the number of hours I've used the hand tools. During the rough shaping, you get an idea of the grain direction. Then when you get into the finer work, those mistakes shouldn't occur.
Great to see you back.
For a sec I thought Brirstow got retired frrom International cricket & started making cricket bats 😂😂
You are doing so hard work to create a bat best of luck your future
Love that splice jig. 🏆

Shall have my Rosco Players Edition GM Icon replicated (with a Shane Watto toe) by you blokes one day, Fantail. Keep it coming.
Loving these decals. Do these come standard now?
Thanks, these were a demo set printed in-house, which are a replica of 1 of 4 new sets due to be released in 4 to 6 weeks. In the meantime, we can continue to print this set in-house.
Does the surface curves makes difference in performance and its advantages and disadvantages
I am from India brother your work is very good there is a lot of cleanliness in your work 🙏😊❤❤❤
Well done fantail👍keep it up👍 regards ANTHEM❤
Well done, hats off to you.
Great effort brother!! ❤
RReally nice bat!!
you're a goddamn artist mate. Cheers!
What do you do if you cut the bat little extra than needed while making the bat. Do you grade it more or dispose it? 4:39
That band saw jig is genius considering how simple it is
Great work...2.11 is a bit heavy though
Cricket bat is the most beautiful thing human ever created.
Is it possible to buy glue that you use and black material to create toe guard!
So much time & lot of effort put into making a Good quality bat, linseed oil used to be applied
Great work bro i love it
Bairstrow you making bats now ?
jhonny Bairstow Preparing bats for England team For upcoming t20 world cup 😂
Love to see someone with gopro playing with your handmade bat. Do tie up with some local cricketer.
Great idea, you can currently see them in use on the NZ domestic scene.
This guy can really handle his hand tool well to get the most out of that hard wood…
Wow fantastic bat I love you bro I like your bat making style ❤❤❤
Work of art 👏
Thanks Adam.
How much time did the whole process take from start to finish? ! Just a curious subscriber.
Why does manufacturers apply water before pressing the cleft but not raw linseed oil ?
Isn't better to apply linseed so while pressing cleft gets pressed better?
Please and thanks
Very clean and satisfying
Professional making bat.
