Interview With Adi Shankaracharya's

Our guest for today is a young sculptor from Mysore, whose's a fabulous creation of a 12-feet 3D statue of Saint Adi Sankaracharya, which was unveiled by our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the holy city of Kedarnath! To the young sculptor Arun Yogiraj, this was definitely an event to cherish, all his life. Arun belongs to the fifth generation in sculpturing in his family. Arun’s grandfather, Shri Basavanna Shilpi was a recognized artist of the Mysore Palace. He carved temples of Gayathri and Bhuvaneshwari in the palace premises. He also sculpted the Cauvery idol at Krishna Raja Sagara dam. His father Yogiraj was also known for his sculpting skills. A few of the most prestigious awards conferred on this young sculptor are:
👉(1) Young Talent Award by Central Government in 2014
👉(2) Rajyotsava Award by Mysore district authority and by Karnataka government
👉(3) ShilpaKaustubha award by ShilpakalaSangha, which was conferred on youth,
for the first time.
Besides carrying forward his family legacy, Arun also holds an MBA from Mysore University.
