Everyone DOES have problems. Some people just wear their issues better than others. The struggle of others reminds us that we are NOT alone, and it gives us hope for overcoming obstacles and the strength to withstand the storm. Ultimately, we MUST get over our problems to be at peace. I am in agreement with Joyce, "God will bring restoration in your life and He CAN fix what's wrong with us."

We are so sorry to hear that, Avril. We are praying for you! God is the “God of hope,” full of mercy and new beginnings (Romans 15:13). He will be your strength and peace. We encourage you to check out joycemeyer.org/hopeforlife and bit.ly/2UwN7T2. We are praying for you! -Team JMM

@avril raven I am glad you are still here fighting and not letting those thoughts take over. You have such a bright future ahead of you, keep going. God is on your side and is with you every step of the way even if it doesn’t seem like it. He knows what you are going through and sees you. Lean on Him and give all your worries and cares to Him, for He cares about you (1 Peter 5:7). There will be a day where you’ve overcome your troubles and get to look back on how much you have grown from, but you won’t get there if you give up now. God loves you so much and has great plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11-13). You got this!! Keep your eyes on Him instead of your troubles, and put on the peace that Christ has given you ( St. John 14:27). God bless you and your loved ones!!

As an intern I worked with several clients who had once had suicidal thoughts and one in particular who told me about circumstances in which he would commit suicide. As an intern I did every step I needed to make sure there was a plan of action and a plan he could use to de-escalate himself. However, when I first heard of the fact that he would do something if certain circumstances happened I felt powerless and cried b/c I realized that I could not do anything to stop him if that circumstance was to arise. Pastor Joyce is right. We MUST hold onto God. He is the answer. Our lives depend on it.

I get so sick of hearing people complain about how we comfort each other there is no way that when someone says something to you their heart is not trying to encourage you....we are not minimizing their pain for us we just try to think of something they can focus on instead of the pain of loss....no one is perfect except God stop trying to shut each other up because we say wrong things we always say wrong things but communicating is important...thinking through a conversation is good..but if we say nothing a person will think no one cared...you cant win either way.....

When Solomon was a young man the Lord told him he was giving him an anointing to be the wisest man who ever lived, for all time. (1 Kings 3:12 in the King James Version). Many years later when Solomon was an old man, he made the statement that a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. (Ecclesiastes 5:3).
    He also made this statement:
"Seest thou a man who is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him." (Proverbs 29:20).
    He also said the following:
"He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction." (Proverbs 13:3).
    He also said the following:
"Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon the earth; therefore let thy words be few." (Ecclesiastes 5:2).
    He also said the following:
"The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool shall swallow up himself. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness; and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. A fool also is full of words; a man cannot tell what shall be, and what shall be after him; Who can tell him?" (Ecclesiastes 10:12-14).
    He also said the following:
"Be not righteous over much, neither make thyself over wise. Why shouldest thou destroy thyself?" (Ecclesiastes 7:16).
About fifty or sixty years earlier Solomon's father King David who was a prophet made this statement:
"The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: Who have said "With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?" (Psalm 12:3-4).
Then about six hundred years later another wise man made this statement:
"An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers." Plato
About three hundred and fifty years later the Apostle James made this statement:
"If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain." (James 1:26).
Then about two thousand years later another wise man made this statement:
"It's bad taste to be wise all the time, like being at a perpetual funeral." D.H. Lawrence
Then some years later another wise man made this statement:
"To the intelligent man or woman life appears infinitely mysterious. But the stupid have an answer for every question." Edward Abbey
Then somewhere along in there Voltaire made these statements:
"The secret of being a bore is to tell everything."
    And:
"He must be very ignorant for he answers every question he is asked."
Then sometime later another wise man made this statement:
"If you do not wish for a man to do a thing, you had better get him to talk about it, for the more men talk, the more likely they are to do nothing else." Thomas Carlyle
Then around that same time period another wise man made this statement: "A flow of words is a sure sign of duplicity." Honore de Balzac
Then sometime later another wise man made this statement:
"Until men of action clear out all the talkers, we who have social consciences are at the mercy of those who have none." George Bernard Shaw
Then a decade or two later another wise man made this statement:
"Talkers are usually more articulate than doers since talk is their specialty." Thomas Sowell
Along about that same time period another wise man made this statement:
"I won't take my religion from any man who never works except with his mouth." Carl Sandburg
