    About 93-94. In the neighborhood. Friend 1 had a T-Hawk, I had the 10T, Friend 2 parents got him a Losi. All stadium trucks. Losi was a bitch to build I heard. 10T was smooth and quick ( great BBs ). T-Hawk was forgotten about after the previous 2. Slot cars and stadium trucks were my 7th-9th grade pastimes. We had a slot car track in our town.

    Stumbled upon this test. The TLR didn’t turn cause that front end is completely wrong for that track. Camber links aren’t setup for it , front springs (silver) to stiff, etc. Makes a ton of difference if you set them up for the track you are on. Also you are running 2 different transmission setups as well so the setups will differ as well just in that alone.

      Ive Ran AE forever so I like the Biased Test.. LOL But your right the car needs to be setup for the track if its pushing its not set right.. gotta make changes.

    I just purchased one of the TLRs, looks like it's having a little balance issue in flight, the team associate looks much more balanced. Did you stop messing with the Losi or did you get it working better? Thank you for any info

      I had it working really well a few times, but would end up making too many changes and ending up worse. It’s a great car and plenty of people can get them set up and win consistently. I drove someone’s AE and just loved it immediately so I jumped ship. They can all be winners with the right set up and talent behind the wheel. That’s my opinion.👍🏻

    Your TLR 5.0 Elite comes only with a laydown tramsmission. The AE comes with both a layback and laydown transmission. The layback will generate a lot more grip on that track, but not sure which transmission you built the AE with.

    • @mxacres
      @mxacres  Před 2 lety +1

      I did build the AE with the lay back transmission. I didn’t think of that. That explains a lot.

    Tlr needs the camber gain tuned. The outside tire has a lot of camber at angle and the ae almost flat. Outside tire is the more important one for turning grip. Some of the guys I run with have switched to tlr and are liking it better. Some of them due to characteristics, some due to the soft ae plastics wearing out and getting slop and having to change before even breaking. If you want to get rid of the tlr let me know. My lady wants in on the 1/10 scene. She’s been running 1/8 and we now have a new carpet track. I mean it’s a win win if you like the ae better. You can buy replacement parts that work for both cars and switch them out on whichever car breaks or gets slop.

      Thanks Robert, but I’m gonna hang on it. It’s the first car I ever actually raced so I’m kind of attached to it.

    It's a catch22. Everyone knows the Losi goes faster and is easier to control, however, Associated does not have parts manufacturing issues like Losi.

      Man I was hoping this was northeast Ohio since you had Rays footage in the intro. Looking to get into racing after 25years out of it trying to decide what one to get and whether or not to get two wheel or four wheel drive.
